I haven't heard of this, honestly. First time I hear of Nenekos, so I can neither oppose you nor confirm your words. I'll come back on this particular matter if I can find smth on it. But were all implicated in this collaboration? You mentioned Meletis Vasileiou, who was infact an Arvanitis, a hero. Others too, like Bouboulina, Miaoulis, Kriezis, Androutsos etc did not betray the cause. Neither did the Suliots. Or so I have read. It would be like dismissing all the Greeks of the late Middle Age as Turkish collaborators because of the treacherous Palaiologos brothers (Thomas and Demetrios, not Constantine) who invited the Turks to crush .... the Arvanites! When the Turks came, they suddenly didn't feel like leaving ... and the main people to resist were the Arvanites. Is this a Greek word? What does it mean in Greek? All this time I thought it was a conjunction of "a" & "po" meaning "or", "or either" ... That was I was talking about...you don't know many things(just some ...titles...) of that period and you write like you're a expert for something that is very alive in my place's tradition even if I hadn't read any related book... And Androutsos wasn't Arvanitis...the others yes.... Vasileiou was a palikari, his covillagers were ass lickers and traitors... but him alone could not do many things... Arvanites in the 14-15th centuries were mercenaries of everyone, depending on the salary...from Palaiologous, to Kantakouzenos, to the Turks, the Venetians, the Serbs ect etc... when Turks reached Examilia in Peloponnesos, the betrayal of the Arvanites was a major factor of our lose... " apo" in Greek has also the meaning of from, like "i prefer this from that"...in the meaning of " instead"... Akoma to understand this...? ;D

I haven't claim expertise but I am not entirely ignorant of the issue either. Same could be said of you Greeks. You know alot, but some details are left unsaid, like how "torukalvanoi" fought on the same side as you until you betrayed them, like Celo Myrto, Ago Vashari, Musa Qafzezi, etc.
I've already discussed this matter with you guys ... let's just forget him for the moment.
They were mercenaries indeed. But against the Turks they fought for self-preservation, not for money. You speak of betrayal; if it weren't for them, there would barely have been a struggle to speak of to begin with. They were the main people to offer resistance. The real traitors being the Palaiologos brothers. Their sincerity is seen in the case of one Michael Rali Trimi ("the brave one") who was offered a monthly salary of 80 ducats by the Venetian proveditore of Morea to fight the Turks, to which he declined; his father had been one of Morea's most important nobility, he argued, and he would show himself no less worthy, and so he would fight using his own resources and money (see Sathas Inédits vol. VI, p. 40).

You know alot, but some details are left unsaid, like how "torukalvanoi" fought on the same side as you until you betrayed them, like Celo Myrto, Ago Vashari, Musa Qafzezi, etc. These tourkalvanoi you reffered to, contributed to the Revolution as much as the Alaskans did... they were just potential allies of the Greek cause, but never really helped...they were just changing camps...from Ali's to Top Kapi's and vice-versa...(in this way they kind of helped....) Firstly, Rallis' second last name was not "trim"... it was Δρυμής- Dhrimis(check original in Sathas) that in greek(anc./mediev./mod.) has the meaning of terrifying-strong. And what Rallis family has to do with Arvanites...? Arvanites in 14-15th century Moreas played a very destabilizing role, and they were easy stooge of the local conflicts... And btw Albanians met Turks in the mid 1300s, Greeks had been "bussy" with them and their "baba" the Seljuks for some centuries... Aaa, thanks that you give the right to hope that he was Greek...what else am i going to read over here...

Actually, Albanians had been dealing with the Turks since the 1200 and a bit earlier when Byzantines called on Selcuk mercenaries to fight us from our mountain strongholds.
