Serbia was only a part of Bulgaria for a period of 3 years in its entire history, from 924 to 927. The second part is wrong Samuil didn't incorporate Serbia into his empire, rather, it was a vassal of Bulgaria ruled by Serbian princes subordinate to the Bulgarian leader, but not an actual part of the empire Anyways, if its a c**k measuring contest, then here's an interesting map: Same image above over-sized bellow upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/76/Europe_814.jpgYeah, Serbia was big too, big deal. From your posts I honestly get the impression that you're trying to prove that Bulgarian are somehow better than Serbs. I honestly like Bulgarians but this kinda crap annoys me.

Kosovo the heartland of Bulgaria. I bet lots of those medieval churches were formerly Bulgarian. thanx asen for exposing the serb hypocrisy in all of this.

Yeah but Bulgarians ruled Kosovo before Serbs.
I think they are entitled to it. I mean isn't your sole arguement of Kosovo just based on some medieval ruling? Why not go a little bit back on time.

Ruse, do serbs call themselves after a mongol turkic tribe, l know Bulgars do and the gagauz like to refer to themselves as either *Eski Bulgars* or *Hasli Bulgars* (True or Old Bulgars). Genetically, serbs have basically no central asian genes running in their veins, only one island called Hvar in Dalmatia where the local inhabitants have up to 85% occurance of this avar central asian gene.
The Turanid race is *almost* absent from serbia, however some articles say its up to about 5% in Bulgaria.

"Yeah but Bulgarians ruled Kosovo before Serbs."
But the serbs arrived and 'inhabited' the region before the Bulgars ruled over them.
"I think they are entitled to it. I mean isn't your sole arguement of Kosovo just based on some medieval ruling? Why not go a little bit back on time."
Ofcourse we can go back in time because the Bulgars permanently settled in Pliska in 681AD about 150 years after the serbs first settled in vardar. Everything before 681AD are just Bulgar raids.

"Pfff Slavic brother? According to people like you Bulgarians are Mongols, Tatars, etc. and apparently we are not even Orthodox."
The 50,000 ruling stratum according to Mikov were not slavs but Turkic, the rest are just slavs of local origins.

"I bet lots of those medieval churches were formerly Bulgarian."
Never were, west bulgarians and vardarians used to make homeage to those monastries and churches.

Skoric, regarding the above newspaper article, Ironically, most of today's so called greek nationalists (Kastor,Basilmakedon) support a *bulgarian*, European-NATO FYROM. That's the limit of their intelligence.

Ruse, what you posted is in windows Cyrillic-1251 character set. In this forum, only Serbian either Latinica (Unicode, ISO-8859-2) or Cirilica (Unicode,ISO-8859-5) or English (ISO-8859-1) are accepted. I doubt anyone will be able to even see your text. If you dont have a clue about computers, then at least learn the rules of the forums. PS, i know you are ignoring me, i just wanted to help

Here's a quick translation of the poem that Ruse posted.. it's not the best translation, I rushed through it. But you'll be able to get the point of the poem. The poem is referring to Macedonia when the Serbs forcefully occupied it. Below the English version, I posted it in Bulgarian with Latin letters.
WHAT ARE YOU? Ivan Vazov
What are you? - an arrogant foreigner asks you in your home What are you? - with such a curse an uninvited guest disrupts your soul
What are you? - asking left and right - at Drin, at Shar, at Vardar, Prespa dear o, Bulgar, a Serb with hate on his face is trying to enforce
But beware, don't answer truthfully. Call yourself Portuguese, a Kurd, Syrian, Laponec, Negar, Gypsy, or an Indian - But be sure not to admit you are Bulgarian.
Since this deadly sin (of calling oneself Bulgarian in Serbian occupied Macedonia) knows no mercy there: it brings shame, beatings, prison, or you’ll be ostracized - Hide that you are Bulgarian in the most Bulgarian land (referring to Macedonia);
Be quite! In your place, every valley, path, lake, river, mountain with a voice through all time will yell: "Bulgarians live here, Bulgarians from more than a thousand years ago".
April, 1913.
PA SHTA SI TI? Ivan Vazov
Pa shta si ti? - takav vapros zadava vav tvoia dom bezochliv chujdenets. Pa shta si ti? - s takvaz psuvnia smushtava dushata ti nekaken prishalets;
Che toz griah smarten proshka tam ne znai: vleche pozor, poboi zatvor, izgnanie - nevideni pri prejnite tirani. Skrii, che si Balgarin v nai-balgarskia krai;
Malchi! A wmesto tebe vseki dol, pateka, dabrava, ezero, reka, rid, planina shte vikat s glas prez sichki vremena: "Tuk Balgari sa, Balgari ot pamtivek!"
April, 1913 g.

It was written during Balkan War I when we were allies against the ottomans and the Serbian heir to the crown Alexander I slapped a 5-year old girl from macedonia when she answered him she was Bulgarian to his question 'pa sta si ti?'

Novi, this tells us that Serbs in Macedonia were a foreign occupation force that invaded Macedonia when Bulgaria was focused on pushing the Turks out of Europe.
It tells us that Serb bandits severely punished anyone who identified as Bulgarian in Macedonia.
It tells us that Serbs wanted to de-Bulgarize the region by any means, no matter how cruel they were.
Did you also know, that when the Serbs invaded Macedonia in the early 1900’s they destroyed Bulgarian Orthodox churches and the ones they didn’t destroy they forcibly converted into Serbian ones? This is something that even the Muslim Turks didn’t do on such large scales. So tell your buddy Pyrro to cut that “Slavic Orthodox brother” bulls**t.

Is the map wrong? It isn't. Don't be so sensitive. Because according to your friend Novi, I am living in one of the few Bulgarian cities inhabited by Bulgarians. The rest are Serbs. This is some stance, don't you think? No it isn’t wrong, nor did I say it was. Please feel free to take the eastern Serbia. It’s ironic but really they are not proper Serbs even though they are the majority in Serbia proper. They’re starting to come around anyway. Srbobran always wanted to be a Bulgarian so he can lead the way.
