So it seems that words that are close to the heart have remained more or less the same.

Guys, Bulgos/Slavomakedonians...
if a random greek with minimal knowledge of Serbian (with Bosnian dialect) can feel at home in Bulgaria, i wonder how thing would be for a Yugoslav...

Interesting. Can you find me other Slavic languages and if they use the term? In Latin, Domus means a house (like Domestic). In Homeric Greek Domus (written the same way) is a room. In Albanian dhome means the same thing, room. Its not " domus" its domos... And in ancient and modern Greek there is the word doma(dhoma) that anciently meant the main hall and now the room, along with "dhomatio". in greek its pino.

In Russian House=Дом, to drink=пить, so the connection is clearly indoeuropean as with many many other words: trcis=τρέχεις, trci=τρεχει, trcimo=τρέχομε,trcite=τρέχετε Deset=Δέκα Zelja=Ζήλια Voliti=Βούλησθαι, Volim=βούλημαι, Volis=βούλησαι, etc...
Besides Greek or Latin, i think, the connection is even stronger between Germanic and Slavic... I think the more someone goes back in time, the more similarities he will find...
