Problem is that generalizations are never right. Specifically when you say north, or catholic. The north and the catholics cover a vast area. Also when you get to stay north a while you'll see that not everyone who comes from the north considers himself a Malsor. Even regarding yourself as Malsor has to do with specific areas.

Generalizations are right. I would say the average Catholic Albanian, not an educated Shkdoran or Tironsi urbanite, is strongly attached to his faith. Similarly Sunnis in the central and north are strongly tied to their ancestral faith as well. The average Malsor is almost always quite strongly pro-Catholic. In the south, where religious practice is weaker among the Orthodox and Bektashi. The two groups are generally the most secularized due to heavy socialist influence.

Define "middle Albania". The territory is historically Sunni heartland. The descendants of the urbanite Communist period, I would say yea, the rurals who have just recently flooded into the city... I would say no. Katnaret e Tirones dolen ne anen e HaxhiQemali ngjat kryengritjen e tij. Well I guess I'm thinking more of Tirana and maybe Durres.....maybe Middle Albania wasn't the correct term. I guess it does get a bit more technical once you take into recent Northern Migrants. Still I have a cousin that has been living in Tirana for 10+ years and he speaks of inter-religious marriages as a common occurrence and tells me that the people from Tirana tend to less nationalistic but much more secular.

There are loads of Albanians from kosova in London.
I once told this anecdote before, in the Alb forum where every one said i was a liar and it couldnt be true etc.. I repeat, it is 100% TRUE.
I met some guy who told me he was german or something (cos i look dumb i guess) he thought he could trick me.. anyway, after continous begging I had 1 drink with him wth a group of 5 friends. Now this is the scary part, he started turning up outside my college, and on my way home from college, coincidence? LOL anyhow I finally told him, look I'm not interested in you, being the ultra nationalist Turk i was back then I said, I only date Turks (I wish that was true lol) He started going mental saying, but I am Muslim u are muslim, we can marry, i was like hold on im 17! he went crazy calling me racist and saying Muslims don't have race n blabla,,, He told me he had already told his mum he had met the one! I said look u can be christian, jewish, buddist whatever but u gotta be Turk. He told me all sorts of stuff from the kuran and islam about why i was talking haram etc....
I had a similar experience with an Algerian guy although not so extreme......
maybe its just my luck to meet the most religious muslim albanian in the world, who knows...

Truth be told, I have seen that game played like a million times by many of the Turkish guys in my school. Its sad and it scares the girls horribly. They find some chick they are infatuated with and then begin to stalk her around the bar, constantly trying to get her to dance with them. I even heard one say I love you to a girl he had met in the dorms a few days back. Particularly grabby and high jealous of any other man who even so much as looks at the girl he has not even managed to get yet.
Its really a pathetic and pretty unnerving sight.
Albanians can act very similar with girls. They think that acting overbearing, immature and overly aggressive will mean the girl will just drop her pants for them.

Wow you are full of negative energy child.
I know and have known multitudes of Turkish younger people (men mostly) here in NYC and I call them smiley people as they are always in a good mood and generally have a lot of positive energy around them and in no way correspond to what you stated.
In fact a lot more cheerful and likable versus balkanoid people like greeks, albanians or montenegrins I have come across.
Just utter ignorance.

Oh well, at least this time he hasn't wished death upon milllions of them.
Hellboy, it's just NOT smart attributing such negative adjectives to entire nations.
There's a lot of animosity between Balkan people, but most of us would always be able to behave with someone from "the sworn enemy".
You are Malaysian, this strong dislike for Turks is not healthy.

Turkish people are generally very friendly and warm. They like to have a drink and a laugh.
The only ones who are not friendly are the ultra religious ones, who are so paranoid about what others will think they choose to stay away from all other races and religions.
There isn't such a thing as mucahir in Turkey, everyone classifys themselves as Turks. They only ever mention background should the subject arise.
Ignorance is the correct term, remember hellboy I told u, you are Cahil. That means Ignorent. You are in fact the one full of negative views and hate towards Turks, yet you project it onto your views and try to class them as bad, when really the person that is bad is you.

I know a lot about Turkey for someone who hasnt been there.
The dumb Turks, are things like YOU^
Kemalist, are less hospitable, while the rural, generally more religious ones are the ones who still have the true full Anatolian hospitality.Just read books by travel writers.
Kemalists are the true conservaties in Turkey, look at Ataturk,he adopted a whole lotta sh*t from the West, but the country remained majority poor for decades and decades held back by coups, supressions and others that are going away or against Kemalist ways.
All those arrows, supposedly to guide Turkey to bring it in line with the best nations in the world, obviously didnt work. And that is from Kemalism!
Who helped kick start Turkey for the better? Turgut Ozal,a religious guy who even helped give some right to the Kurds.Turgut helped internationalize Turkey. And he's even been to Mecca for the Hajj.Even Margaret Thatcher said "I'm an Ozalist".Not Kemalist!
Too bad he died, because he's fat like dy.
Then you have Erdogan. He's brought Turkey forward somewhat too.Although the guy clearly doesnt know what SECULARISM is.The problem with him,is that,he lectures Turks about their unislamicness and tries to discourage alcohol legally.
But he has not turned Turkey into an Islamic state like Iran. And he cant because he doesnt have the support of the MAJORITY of Turks. And I'm referring to the masses of the so-called Islamists.
Ankara University carried out a research a few years ago throughout Turkey and the research showed that Turks in West Turkey less religious and East more religious, and that majority of East Turks dont want an "Islamic state" in Turkey.Just rights. And its the HARMLESS Islamic right.Wink.
Ermmm...its Turkish women who love to laugh. But its the men who love to drink, grope, harrass, beat, kill, fight and dictate irrationality.

you are a CAHIL racist person....
If Turkish guys are so bad than why are all the Americans and European women marrying them? You are so wrong on making generalizations about Turks.
Actually Turks in villages are more religious than cities in general.
And actually you're also wrong about Muhacir.
Turks from Anadolu are much more friendlier than Muhacir's.
Just an FYI since you have no knowledge about anything.

Turks are usually the least inat filled people I come across, largely because, I think, they managed to clean their country of all the grounds that would have destabilized it and caused the problems that occurred in the Balkans. As a result they dont bare the kind of grudges Balkan people bear, like Greeks, Albanians or the closesly tied to the Balkans, Armenians.
