Notice how in the Albanian cultural video posted above, the montage focuses on the African subcontinent and moves towards Asia. Very subtle acknowledgment of their non-European ancestry.

Back to the topic, An example of Middle Eastern/Arabic influence on Albanian music (and by default, culture) The childish sounding vocals and ridiculous dresses (the white skull-cap was initially from the sub-Saharan African tribes -why are Albanians wearing it?) only further reinforce their non-European roots. here is smth from my home land: its so fucking close... i love it... i cry when i listen to it... but its so fucking albanian... nothing close to yugoslav or ancient greek music (Cretan/Pontian).

I personally don't see "being European" as one specific thing. There's no specific European look/apperance that applies to entire Europe, there's no specific European way of being, and there's no specific European culture and traditions that apply to entire Europe. To me, a European is someone who's native of a country in Europe - which you must say Albania definitely is. So yeah, to me Albanians are Europeans.
When you begin to base Europeaness on culture, you pretty much exclude 95+% of Europe from Europe. Why is Bulgaria the standard of real Europeanness? Because you're Bulgarian, and you think you're on the right track. As does every other European countries' people think. I know here in Denmark, people look at Eastern Europeans and say they're not "real Europeans". That THEY are. So who's right?

Christianity spread to Europe by acceptance. Christians pray in their native tongue. Islam spread to Europe by conquest and enslavement. Muslims pray in Arabic.

Christianity was not spread to Europe by acceptance at all . Pagans were killed unless they changed their religions to Christianity - and throughout the Middle Ages people only really held on to Christianity out of fear.

You don't understand what I wrote (as usual). I said that IMHO it isn't quite correct from asen's side to say for the others what is important for them and what is not.

Christianity converted from the ground up and it did so during the early Dark Ages. Christianity was already entrenched in Europe during the Middle Ages which is why the Catholics were launching crusades at Pagans in the Baltic area and at Muslims in Iberia and Asia Minor. Learn some damned history, you leftist tool.

Shqiptars (the Illyrian word for slaves no less) have to understand that "Slavs" are about as native as you can get in the Balkans. Slavs migrated to the Balkans and were given the land or bought the land from the Greeks, who were the most native in the Balkans since they migrated to the Balkans from Asia Minor (among other places) and killed or assimilated the natives. Shqiptars are newcomers to the Balkans. What's more, they came as mercenaries and took land stolen from native Greeks and Serbs by Turks.

All I'm gonna say is that this guy what a nice example... ... a guy with an African mother... Only Jesus Christ was born of a mother without the help of human sperm so this guy must have had a father right? Just wanted to verify that this is how you are defining "European": He is Greek and Christan that is sufficient to be called European isn't it? Marija Serifovic is actually of gypsy heritage. I'd prefer her any day over that f*g representing Serbia in Eurovision this year. Cannot get any more "European" than that. Is it me or is Serb culture abroad best represented by gypsies. A gypsy wins Eurovision and the best Serbian movies are about gypsies (All of Nemanja Kusturica's movies basically). You guys need to gets some gypsies in Basketball and Football and the gypsy takeover will be complete.

"I don't care what a Swedish, a Danish, a Swiss or a Bavarian thinks about Orthodoxy and Balkanoids. But because the last 200-300 years they've grown economically and socially much faster from the focked up by Osmans Balkans they can't point us out what is "european" and what is not. They are "lucky" bastards that lived in a place that none care to invade and destroy and make war with them and they enjoy that benefits, good for them.
Historically they "met" civilization, the civilization that now describe as part of their tradition, some 20-30 generation back...
Greek and Italian peninsula gave to the world the definition of being European, not Scandinavian vikings and Rhine vandals..."
Well said brother. Patrino, it was the Greeks who gave europeans what we have today, the Greeks influenced the Italians/Romans. If it weren't for the great greek people us Slavs, Germanics etc...would be still living in forests like the amazonian indians of south america.

Learn some damned history, you leftist tool. I'd rather be a "leftist tool" than a delusional fool . I seriously don't know what you've read, that said people embraced Christianity with great joy, but I've never read such thing. Show me your source and I'll show you mine.
