Actually Vizier, Turkey is a regional power; it's quite interesting, this morning on CNN they quoted Turkey as such. I wish Turkey could make it's own military weapons so it doesn't have to rely on other countries for them. I know they will be beginning on some things, but they should be able to do most of them. Turkey could produce some weapons (40-50%) domestically, but mostly moderate technologies. For producing advanced arm systems, Turkey needs at least another decade. www.ssm.gov.tr/anasayfa/savunmaSanayiimiz/ssurunleri/Sayfalar/default.aspx

I dont think Turkey will ever be able to reach the industrial potential of Brazil, a country with over twice the population as well as resources. Korea I definitely see Turkey toppling in the next several decades. Koreans would not be where they are today without the significant US presence. If current borders and populations do not change, then yes. In that case, Brazil will always be a larger economic and industrial power. I do not question that. What I meant was the fact that Brazil gets involved in production of fairly advanced technologies just like Korea does. Turkey needs another decade to design and produce regional aircrafts or to launch indigenously designed and produced satellites into orbit.
