Another win. Next opponent is probably Turkey as they lead against Slovenia with great margin at the moment. We must dictate our tempo like today against Spain as this is type of game that we fit in best.

Serbia knock out defending champs Spain ;D Updated: 17:50, Thursday September 9, 2010
Serbia knocked defending champion Spain out of the basketball world championship when Milos Teodosic made a long 3-pointer with 3.1 seconds left for a 92-89 quarter-final victory.
Spain erased an eight-point deficit in the final four minutes to tie it on Marc Gasol's basket with 25 seconds remaining. After a timeout, Serbia patiently ran its offence until Teodosic pulled up and launched his shot from well beyond the 3-point line.
The Spaniards couldn't get a final shot off, with Jorge Garbajosa losing the ball after a timeout. Serbia's players celebrated at midcourt as Spain's Sergio Llull kicked the ball deep into the stands.
Avenging a loss in last year's European championship game, Serbia advanced to face either Turkey or Slovenia in a semi-final game on Saturday.

... how embarassing for Albanians! Ottomans in their soul!
Turkey basketball win fuels Kosovo clash September 12, 2010 - 8:54AM Police say ethnic Albanians and Serbs clashed in Kosovo's ethnically divided city of Mitrovica after Turkey defeated Serbia in the semifinals of the basketball world championship.
Police spokesman Besim Hoti says ethnic Albanians and Serbs pelted each other with stones on Saturday when "Albanians started celebrating Turkey's victory".
An Associated Press reporter heard gunshots and said police used tear gas to disperse the crowds surging toward the bridge that halves the city into the majority ethnic Albanian and minority Serb part.
Doctors in the Serb-run north said a Serb youth was shot and wounded.
Hoti could not confirm the reports, but said European Union police and NATO peacekeepers were called in to secure the bridge.

www.nationalpost.com/sports/Turkey+tops+Serbia+worlds+stunner/3511959/story.htmlTurkey tops Serbia in worlds stunner Jeff Haynes/REUTERS Turkey's players on the bench celebrate as they go one point ahead of Serbia during their FIBA Basketball World Championship semi-final in Istanbul September 11, 2010. Comments Twitter LinkedIn Digg Buzz Email Agence France-Presse · Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010 ISTANBUL — Semih Erden’s block on Novica Velickovic’s last-second shot handed Turkey a famous 83-82 victory over Serbia and a place in Sunday’s world basketball championships final where they’ll face the U.S. Carried on the support of delirious sell-out crowds in every game they have played to date, Turkey needed more than just that to get past a talented young Serbian side. While Serbia shared the workload in the opening quarter, it was Phoenix Sun Hedo Turkoglu doing most of the work for Turkey, scoring nine of his side’s opening quarter 17 points. However, it was not enough to give Turkey the lead, with Serbia up 20-17 when the quarter ended. The game continued in similar fashion throughout the second quarter, much to the crowd’s displeasure as Serbia’s lead continued to grow with the former Yugoslav state up 42-35 at half-time. The Turks managed to tie the score twice before Serbia regained some control to take a 63-60 lead into the final quarter. However, the advantage would not hold for Serbia with a Kerem Tunceri layup with just over three minutes remaining giving Turkey the lead for the first time since the first quarter. But with just four seconds remaining Velickovic had Serbia back in front by a point (82-81) forcing a Turkey timeout. The timeout worked, with Tunceri making another crucial layup with less than a second remaining. Serbia took one last timeout but the play resulting from the team talk failed with Velickovic’s shot blocked by Erden, handing Turkey the victory. Turkoglu would end the night as Turkey’s leading point-scorer with 16 points. Omer Onan with 14 points, along with Tunceri and Ender Arslan who both finished 12 points were the other outstanding Turkish players. Marko Keselj was the best of the Serbs with a game-high 18 points. Earlier, the US had cruised into the final with a 89-74 win over Lithuania.

Another amazing game of basketball! Turkey can feel satisfied with the victory. Serbia lead for the entire game until the last few minutes. The American comentator was talking up Serbias performance the entire match saying he was looking forward to seeing Serbia take on the US in the final. Serbia looking like the overall more quality team but full credit to Turkey for grinding out the win. Turkoglu was fantastic for Turkey... What makes this so much easier to digest as a Serb is really Turkey's Serbian connections. Their coach is Serbian and their best player (Turkoglu's) parents are Turks from Serbia Combine that with playing such a huge match againt them on their own turf and if ever Serbia can loose to Turkey those are the circumstances... although then again Serbia has been European basketball champions in Turkey by actually beating Turkey in the final in the 2001 when Stojakovic was playing... Anyway I actually now find my self actually cheering for Turkey in the final. Some things you think can never happen but with Turkey's Serbian connections and the global political and societal climate I do somewhat genuinely hope that Turkey beats USA and becomes World Champions this time round.

Albanians support Turkey as a rule, not just against Greeks or Serbs but against anything besides our own people. I always imagine so... which makes it so confusing when you see so many other Albanians on the net carrying on how they are not Turks brothers... Skanderbeg, ra ra ra. I prefer the Skanderbeg crowd. It would have been better for the Balkans overall if they were the majority. In any case it's just a joke how Albanians have to live so vicariously through Turkey & USA in major sports.

Woaaaah, was that rigged match or what? Anyway finals will be +20 for USA as they are better for +40, but referees will do their job like in this one. Serbia vs Lithuania will be blowout for one of the teams, we will see which

I've never encountered Turk-loving Albanians...you are just not smart enough to notice that comments like that of Toskaliku are only meant to piss Greek and Serb turds off...last night I had to intervene in a FIBA thread to calm a Albanian-Turkish flamewar...while Turks and Serbs were faping at each other's posts In any case it's just a joke how Albanians have to live so vicariously through Turkey & USA in major sports. LOL, you poor people...zoti was spot on when saying you people are psychologically devastated

Ermir - surely a name Arabic/Muslim in origin. Surely a loyal Ottoman name . Ermir, unfortunately I think I will take Toskali's word over yours on this one. I mean the evidence is there, I'm pretty sure I can find more examples beyond this one in Kosovo. Ermir, I wish you were right but I don't think so... Can you link us to this Turkish-Albanian flame war btw?

Hidayet Turkoglu is Serbian? I don't think so, his roots are of Bosnian Muslim, are there any Bosnian muslim Serbs? and even if there were, he see's himself as a Turk. Dont make this ugly, the Serbians surely deserved to go through more than my national team Turkey, those 3 pointers were awesome... will we win tonight? ufff I don't think we are that good, but at least we have some belief for what its worth I do hope Turkiye wins and show the world that its not just the USA who are the best,,, I think this would be more possible if we had a team composed of Turks and Serbs

Well Desire, I don't think you will be able to win against USA. Referees will have different criteria for this match, after all its a final game. Kevin Durant and Lamar Odom are monsters, especially the 1st one. American players are all too athletic and more powerful(physical power) then Serbia, and your hope relies at physical game so I don't see you winning the game.
I just want to say for a final thought: FIBA in last decade became so lame organization and most of basketball association don't have respect for them, it's about time for ULEB to take over organizing at least Eurobasket competition. How come referees from Puerto Rico and two other South American countries, who have no serious competition, not to mention experience and knowledge, judge semi-final game of World Championship? It's like giving FIFA World Cup semi-final to the East Asian ref's.
ps. Turkoglu is of Serbian origin, at least from his father's line, but its irrelevant now

Well he states he is of Bosnian origin, but if it makes u feel good to think of him as Serbian so be it.
In addition I don't watch must basketball, so I can't decide about the ref's, all I can say is, the Serbs shot some amazing 3 pointers, whereas we missed even the easiest shots until the last minutes. Must have been 80 mill praying for them to win!
America if they beat us.... ok well its the first time in our history that was are in the Final that still makes me VERY proud
