what we need now is a revolution like the one in 67. Pasok did sell out Greece...its ironic that it was his father who propagated that "we prefer to belong to Greeks (only)"...

Hunda (with Papadopoulos) was created/conceived/implemented/maintained by USA/UK and dropped also by USA/UK when it no longer aligned/served their policies. No real revolution happened, not in 67 and certainly not in 74.
BUT, if a new Hunda could appear and have an horizon to work for at least 100 years, then this place could change. IMO, the ideal system would be like
- a new ideological background, away from the ancient/byzantine hysterical lies and deceptions - BETTER communication with our NATURAL friends (the rest of the balkans) - SEVERE discipline, GOOD manners, pursuit of PERFECTION, LOGIC in all fields - Direct ANTAGONISM with the rest of the balkan countries - Direct cooperation with the rest of the balkan countries - Two official languages : a) One Cretan-Cypriot : True Greek and b) One hybrid : neo-greek, with any Vlah/Slav additions, as they are spoken in the mainland (Horiatika)
The b) above is of huge importance, you simply cannot have a nation be productive and innovative when you have butchered their soul with this ancient-wanna be madness which creates only embarassment. Neo-greeks *CANNOT* think, we are blocked, we act 24x7 of being smth else. THIS SITUATION MUST BE REMOVED: We have absolutely no connection to ancient greece, and there is nothing good we remember from Byzantines times either. Its all a mess. We are a new nation and we must find NEW SOLID foundations based on PERFECTION and TRUTH and not on deception. Deception is only gonna preserve this idiocy.
neo-Romioi-Greeks must FREE THEMSELVES are re-invent themselves. ALL recipes FAILED. - Ancient madness : FAIL - Byzantine fanfare : FAIL - (even the pure arbano-vlah aspect FAILED miserably , but it was not given full chance)
WE NEED SOMETHING MORE.
Only two places can function curently in greece : CYPRUS-CRETE- PERIOD.
There is another possibility but it is VERY hard to be implemented.
Maybe we could turn our selves to GREEKS by 1000000% adopting Cretan values.....
In anyway, FIRST we must understand our ULTRA tragic situation and stop relying in fairy tales (in which BTW we are not so rich as in the rest of the balkans)

www.democracynow.org/2011/7/1/hundreds_of_thousands_of_greek_and700,000 Brits decide not to show up to work in a sign of protest to British austerity cuts. I hope this becomes the beginning of some wonderful things for Europe. United workers and unions from Spain to Britain and all over to define the neo-liberal policies of the European Central Bank, IMF et al. If the political leaders resisted against the IMF policies by grasping just a part of this general European discontent, he might go far with it IMHO. Especially since he,as head of Socialist International, could become the head of a popular Euro movement against these banks. Im guessing he is too frightened of doing such a thing...

Giorgakis is a coward, yet not as coward as Karamanlis but still....what I dont like with him is his covered greed for power...not that this is sth condemnable a priori...but Giorgakis is always presenting himself as "one of us", an average Greek, common, moderate, decent as a main part of his political profile....what he is not. He already knew of the massive economic problems of Greece before his election...but promised the voters that "there is enough money" although he very well knew the truth.
He is glued to the position of the pm as he was to that of the party leader (this man had lost two elections in series already when he became pm).
An adventage is surely his good reputation in the world...everyone likes this calm guy, he is beaming prudence...but he is definitely not a rebel like his father....so I cant really understand this greed for power at any price when he should know that he will hardly change anything to the better...
I abhor his father and make him responsible for Greece's present crisis...but in these times we would need a politician like him...romantically nationalistic, demagogic, undiplomatic and externally rebellious...

Yea, as if there any real examples of undemocratic, undiplomatic, demagogic and nationalistic leaders taking their nations to good places. You can criticize George all you want, but when you promote an absurd lawless dictator you waive any claim to moral or legal authority... What's more, you seem to be determined in your view that you somehow know better than the Greeks in Athens... all of these situations usually bring about nothing more than stagnation or isolation and economic turmoil. A few years ago I would have said Putin is a good leader, but now, with the economic impasse of Russia, where a few are continually are enriching themselves as the corruption in government is still rampant, even that leader has failed... all of these kinds of leaders rarely if ever have any positive results. A "strong leader" of your kind may correlate well with a strong nation, but has a inverse correlation with a strong people...

Btw, where are those touted Greek maritime giants that you Greeks seem to be so proud of? Where are their billions that could help ease the current situation? I'm guessing safely sealed in off-shore investments, away from the needy hands of the people that birthed them, perhaps?

Well thats all right but I think that Greece should make more use of its position in the Eurozone and the EU...our government is too compliable....its not that there is no alternative (for Greece) to the saving plans...I have the feeling all these plans are for the good of the European banks (french, german etc) primarily,on the other hand the troika and the world are portraying it as if Greece's existence is standing or falling with those EU-credits...
Im simply wishing politicians with cojones...thats what every Greek wants in the end. With other words, we should blackmail Europe more...in a diplomatic way of course...what will they do? Kicking us out? There isnt a legal base for sth like that...
