If ancient greeks ever came in this place, they would burn alive 99.99% of the stock that currently inhabits those lands. Then they would rush to establish friendly relations with the rest of indoeuropean neighbour nations .

What really happened, is that Slavs came to empty lands. Why were they invited by the byzantines anyway? Those cute stories about slavic invasions are really funny, as if those eastern-asiatic-roman b1tches were helpless saints!!!
Slavs came to empty land, to culture and work the land and pay taxes to the asian-eastern-roman imperialists.

oh.... and the current post-slav, albano-vlaho-romioi-greko stock living in Greece WAS NEVER PART OF ANY BYZANTINE ARMY.
NEVER.
The only warriors of greek descent are the cretans and the pontians. The only ones with true discipline and military mentality.

Poutsamtargana Pyrros...
well I dont want to discuss history with you because you have your very special views on it shared by no one else...its waste of time.
I dont deny the slavic element among Greeks...especially us the Northern Greeks. And also I will have some slavic ancestors according to a dna test I have done....a little more than the average Greek. But my gene pool is predominantly meditarranean, which is typical Greek again. I think dna will answer all of your questions. Its a fact that slavic influence on the Greek genepool is very very small.

i do not understand vlah or albanian, what does that mean? I dont deny the slavic element among Greeks...especially us the Northern Greeks. And also I will have some slavic ancestors according to a dna test I have done....a little more than the average Greek. But my gene pool is predominantly meditarranean, which is typical Greek again. I think dna will answer all of your questions. Its a fact that slavic influence on the Greek genepool is very very small. It seems that your comprehension skills are below average. You have missed the whole progression, you are not very smart. Look what happened : Greece at 500 AD is empty (because of the romans, christians) Slavs come, and live hapilly for 300-400 years At 900 they start to get rid of the failed empire. The asian-vlaho-roman empire brings greeks from south italy and vlahs to replace the slavs. Slavs move north and form their own states. Later the bulgarians rape those vlah-asians-romans, and then the serbs from 1250-1400. So, Slavs were older than us here. We replaced them. I agree that, our DNA is mediteranean as in most of albanians/romanians (arvanitovlahoi), and this is in accordance with what i write that those new comers were not slavs and were brought to replace the slavs... is this so hard to understand??? i guess so.... PS pls xlate what you wrote in the first sentence.... AAdmin and all the mods will be informed about your anti-greek albanian behaviour.

So, if the so called "arvanitovlahoi" were Mediterraneans and the ancient Greeks were Mediterraneans with very similar cultures, where did those "arvanitovlahoi" came from then?

ULF
Accurate question. It has crossed my mind as well. Judging facially, the arvanites and the vlahs are very similar to ancient greeks (Cretans/Pontians/Cypriot).
Short answer : They (we) came from south italy/minor asia/thrace.
However, looks are only .... 0.000000001% of the story.
We cannot claim to be ancient greeks when our grandmothers were speaking either vlah or albanian or slavic, and when we do not have any cultural indoeuropean characteristic.
PS at the age of 17 when i went to study in Crete, it was like i was introduced to a new ... GREEK universe.
The difference in fluency of the greek language between the cretan peasant and the epirot peasant .... was CHAOTIC....

who is claiming to be ancient Greek? I dont care for ancient Greece...Im a modern Greek, a citizen of the Greece of 1830. The ancient Greeks are dead. They are part of the past, not present. Im not like them nor do I want to be like them. The same goes for Byzantium to which I feel much closer though of course. I dont even care if I have ancient Greek ancestors, although I will most probably have some...but thats not important for me. Everyone in this world has ancient ancestors, thats nothing special.

man, seriously do you find the ... 1000 (pre-1926) SLAVIC toponyms of peloponese ... as .... natural??? if we accept our mainstream (and highly problematic) version of history? If those lands were always inhabited by greeks since antiquity , how come and those words are not greek but Slav? and something else, if we accept that we are a separate nation from ancient greeks then WHY THE f**k DO REMOTE POPULATIONS LIKE THE CRETANS AND THE PONTIANS SHARE MUSIC/DANCES/TRADITIONS/CULTURE, when it was like 2000 km separating them for over 1000 years? ANSWER THIS TO ME. Why the fuk are those people closer to ancient greeks than we are? just answer... do not bypass with the usual neo-roman hypocrisy (which we have in LARGE amounts i must say....) hypocrisy is our .... best virtue ... just try to ANSWER. get rid of the lies, the deception, all this roman filth, and try to become GREEK again... try to become PURE, just try to think..... to use your brain....

Here maybe, UZ will start to understand, why I, by supporting the Slavs, am practically paving my way to become ancient greek.

Pyrros, speaking bulls**t won't help anyone to change his thoughts. My personal belief is that your are trapped in past and some fantasy world of yours. You give too much to ancient Greeks even though they weren't not as nearly as good you wish them to be(same case with the Slavs). Also you can't help the one which don't need help or the one which doesn't want to receive help.
You do say some smart things, but your approach is what makes everyone else to laugh and mock you. People when faced to totally opposite fact then the one they were taught need(sometimes more, sometimes less) time to accept it, but of course with the right approach

People when faced to totally opposite fact then the one they were taught need(sometimes more, sometimes less) time to accept it, but of course with the right approach in this case, its their (your) problem for being so stupid to understand what i write. I am not getting paid to educate anyone you know, i do it just for fun. anyways, its not the first time you try to put your nose in matters (greek affairs) for which you do not have a clue. shouting "bulls hit" against me, is very popular here, but i never really had any real opponent. either oppose with real arguments (such as numbers, which i can provide in tones), or just STFU. That's how i see it. It is not the first time you try to attack me, but as always, you have nothing to say. PS .... also wait a funken moment here.... by saying that ancient greeks and ancient slavs were not great, is like telling us, that we are dealing with something of small importance, and therefore we are losing our time, and of course that includes you as well. do you understand how self-canceling that sounds?
