You cannot forget that the Balkan region especially the area inhabited by Slavs is the richest in natural ressources, whereas in Germany they have none and truly depend on industry/factory making. hm, for good industry you need to have good experts. That is good engineers and good craftsmen. That is German philosophy concerning industry and that's why they are good at it. When we were good in industry field we had both, now we lack good craftsmen. Also in Germany one person is in charge of everything(chief), and that's not necessarily the thing here. That's why they are ahead of us in industrial sense Well ya, this is why Germans are good crafts-men, they must be in order to excel economically. Same with Italy, 90% of their fresh-water is imported. The country needs to be in the EU they got no ressouces. But also great crafts-men. They become the best because it's the only feild they can take advantage of to excel in.

The Germans also have a great work ethic. Organization and capability of their workers is definitively prime factor. Work ethic comes by itself when you enjoy in the work you're doing.

How is "Family Guy" considered Western Media? It's a cartoon, it shows the opinions of the writers (who pretty much bag everyone). And in this case Serbs are under-represented in these shows compared to Americans, the British, Mexicans, Russians, Germans and Jews. It's meant to be ironic, but you know the saying is that Americans never get irony.

They probably got that portrayal of the Serbs from the Serbs themselves. On TV Serbian troops were singing ' Slobo Slobo salji nam salate , bit ce mesa klat cemo Hrvate.' Roughly translated ' Slobo , Slobo send us salad , there will be meat , we will slaughter Croats.'
When this was finally translated on western media I think that whole overexaggeration of cannibalistic Serbs stuck.

And that movie with Angelina Jolie sounds like BS. Leave it to her and Brad to try to make money of some tradgedy. Fall in love with your rapist? You have to be clinically insane I think. I think the premise wouldn't appeal to Bosnian Muslims and Serbs alike.

A good movie comes to mind while on this topic. Layer Cake.
British-style drama/crime, I really liked it. The "bad-guys" are Serbs, but in the movie everyone technically is a bad guy. You'll be surprised how they spin off the Serbs in this movie, it kinda shocked me.

I think the premise wouldn't appeal to Bosnian Muslims and Serbs alike. There's still a debate on whether her stance is "diplomatically-correct" or not. Apparently a Croatian Journalist is suing her for stealing the story from him... timesofindia.indiatimes.com/entertainment/hollywood/news-interviews/Croatian-journalist-sues-Angelina-Jolie/articleshow/10981922.cmsThe Yugo movies need to end in my opinion, this isn't good for our peoples' it's time we get over the past completely and move on together.

Well , if you're gullible enough to believe hollywood and MSM as truth and gospel then you will believe anything. The people who believe one of these stories can be easily manipulated either way. Give them a fresh dose of Serbian or Croatian propaganda and they will be come cheerleaders for those sides too.

We're talking about Angelina here... who the heck would take her word seriously enough about the Yugo-wars ? lol But let's face it, I never seen a Bosnian or Croat bad guy in american films. Usually they're the "good-guys" joining the hunt for the big-bad Serb. lol

Usually they're the "good-guys" joining the hunt for the big-bad Serb. lol This is my point. Why complain about some Jolie movie about the Balkans at all? Simply don't watch it . And about the good/bad guy dichotomy in these movies. I would say Croats don't really count since most of the movie industry regarding the war is focused in Eastern Bosnia where the point of contention was between Serbs and Bosniaks. When the war started in Bosnia everyone forgot about the Croatian conflict until almost 3 years later. In media we are kind of ignored too ( better that way IMO) since , again , the focus of western media is on the Bosniak-Serb conflict in Eastern Bosnia , hardly the rest of the Balkans except Kosovo later on. When we are mentioned though we are sort of breezed over and negatively equated with the 'bad guy' Serbs. Everynow and then you get " Serbs and Croats wanted to destroy innocent Bosnians, etc etc." Here is my 2 cents and humble opinion on why this is the case. The media doesn't care about the substance of what's really going on nor the complexities. Its much easier and marketable to show on TV a 'good guy' and a 'bad guy' plus 'action' in the way Serbs were shelling international cities like Sarajevo. Depicting a three way war more accurately would be too confusing for viewers to grasp. The Muslims are portrayed as innocent victims of Serb aggression in take one ( Sarajevo) but just mere miles west of Sarajevo the Muslims are comitting the same aggression against Croats and Serbs. Alija didn't order the new Bosnian Army to go defend the east and south front from the Serbs but rather let the Serbs take those places and ordered the army north and west to seize land from Croats ( he thought we were the weaker target , also a sizeable minority of Serbs lived in this territory too). The picture becomes gray and not so black and white anymore and the media didn't think that would be marketable.

Don't misunderstand me. This whole idea (what the thread is based on) doesn't bother me at all. Anyone with a brain will know in advance the motive. Like you said; Whatever is marketeable. Hollywood especially cannot go against the diplomatic-stance, it would cross the line of being labelled as ; Insensitive or watever.
My two sense about this whole thing lol revolves around the fact that all Yugo's should ignore this phenomenon completely. The subject has been exploited to the max already and to the point of disrespect towards the actual victims on all sides.

Says the supporter of the "old Serbs west of Negotin are Vlahs - Negotin Serbs are Vlahs as well - Eastern people of negotin are Vlahs as well, except Krasovani Torlakians who are CROATS!!!" theory

Anyways the role of western celebrities (like Bono in Bosnia, e.g.) was detrimental and necessary in order to provide the cultural cover for the western political aggression towards anything Slavic.
