Riza Sapunxhiu (Serbo-Croat: Riza Sapundžiju) (born March 15, 1925) was a Kosovo Albanian communist politician and economist of the former Yugoslavia. He was born in Peæ, at the time in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. He served as Deputy Prime Minister and Prime Minister of Kosovo prior to becoming its representative in the Yugoslav Presidency. From 1980 to 1982, Sapunxhiu served as Prime Minister of Kosovo.[1] In 1981, he headed the Kosovar delegation in a historical visit to Albania. This visit paved the way for closer relations between Albania and the Albanian community in Kosovo and the Albanian community in the Former Yugoslavia.[2] As a successful economist, in 1982, Sapunxhiu became an official at the World Bank.[3] When the Yugoslav crisis began, he opposed the idea of a civil war and did not effectually vote, though he was registered as voting pro. Nevertheless, the civil war was not declared due to opposition by other members of the presidency.[4] If the Yugoslav Wars had not broken out, Sapunxhiu could haven taken over as chairman of the presidency. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riza_Sapunxhiu

"The highest-ranking Kosovar economist, Riza Sapunxhiu, who in 1981 was vice-president of the economy, contends that any criticism of the state economy in 1981 was unwarranted. "We were doing everything we could" he says. "People were impatient."

I aint critisising you but it does show that your's and others claim of opression is not absolutley correct,.....there is no doubt that the program to reSerbianize Kosovo did exist and the oppresion you all speak of was in effect but if you check the dates and why you will clearly see that the claims of decades of opression is not correct, and the oppresion started in the late nineties starting with job losses.

Of course there was oppression. The only reason why these guys were accepted in high positions was because thgey betrayed their people and obeyed the rules of the oppressor. In America, people like these are called Uncle Toms.

An Albanian who had the chance to become the President of Yugoslavia doesn't change the fact that Albanians were oppressed by Serbs. It doesn't change the fact that Serbia abolished Kosovo's autonomy and dismissed 200,000 Albanian workers. It doesn't change the fact that Serbian forces expelled about 800,000 Albanian civilians and killing about 10,000.

See none of you can actualy list events that where your so called oppresion before Autonomy was taken away....truth is there was no Oppression prior to Autonomy being dissolved and all the boycotts, murder of police, postal workers etc and violent demonstrations where always for the goal of Independence.

Albanians and Serbs lived in a relative harmony before Slobodan Miloševiæ began fueling the political debate and becoming aggressive towards the Albanians.

Demonstrations start from something. Something that isnt going right.
People don't just demonstrate out of thin air and start killing each other.

LMAO
first you should take a breath and read my posts again as your sounding like a child having a tantrem.
I have said very clearly that before Autonomy was disolved there was no oppresion whatsoever unlike what you claim if you think I am wrong then list what oppresion you suffered before Autonomy was disolved and a campaign of ReSerbinization was introduced.
