Three factions: HVO, Bosnian Army, HOS

HVO, the Bosnian Army, and HOS were united against the Chetniks when I shot this picture in Mostar. They had crossed the old bridge the day before and forced the Serbs out of east Mostar. This trio had just come back from a fight at Bijelo Polje. The Serbs were on the run and would be until Charles Holbrooke stepped in to save their ass. Soon after the Croatian HDZ party attacked HOS, setting the two Croatian parties against each other, and HVO attacked the Bosniaks. A true Balkan war.

Good thread, My favorite foto from the war is the one of the guy in the Sarajevo '84 Olympic hat with the AK and the shattered background. It really is the terrible irony of the war and Bosnia's transformation in a very short time from Olympic glory.

The fotos remind me of just how the crap rose to the top during the war and phsychopaths, criminals, killers and the like ruled the country. It was not pretty, you could lose your life for no reason and no one really care, life is for the living hightened by 1000%.

I have some good fotos from Mostar and Sarajevo from the war from my private collection, I would share some of them via an email.

A lot of the fotos shown as well as some others can be seen on James Masons website.

Absolutley you do not want to be caught alive or surrender to these guys. Your better off to swallow a bullet or lie on your own grenade.
Although most of those sort of gangs usualy where taken out very quickly as they would walk into an ambush, usualy they had no radios so they inevitably would walk in front of a Machine gun, Sniper or there would be pieces of them everywhere from stepping on mines.

Yeah, I agree to both points. I just bought the book about him called Hunting the Tiger. His ability to break out of prison time and again is quite impressive as well, I am looking forward to the read.

Rofl no, he was one of commanders of KLA and prime ministers of Kosovo. He was also in the Yugoslav Army. He went on trial for war crimes but was set loose a while before Oric.

United States Senator Joe Biden commented on Haradinaj's indictment,
