what Albanian Muslims are to Albanian Christians. The same people but seperated by religion.
Think about it, both essentially converted to Islam around the same time. The Albanian ones were able to retain their Albo identity but the Serb ones were rejected from the rest of society and forced to adopt a new identity.
It's no suprise that the first Bosnian Muslim president - Alija Izetbegovic has family roots which are originally from Belgrade.
If the Bosnian Serb leadership in the 90s was more accomodating to Serbs of the Islamic faith, I do believe we would have seen many more of Bosnia's Muslims side with the Serbian cause. It's unbelivable to think that they consider themselves a seperate identity yet many still hold Serbian surnames and engage in Serbian traditions (such as the celebration of St George's Day)

This is the same process the Ottomans engaged in for nearly 500 years. That's over several generations of Serbian kids who were takien back to Turkey (or in the latter parts remained in the Balkan areas), raised to be Muslims, Turks, Janisaries etc and returned back to be the most spiteful of killers. Those same children were taught to hate their Serbian roots and when the Ottomans were defeated they were left in limbo - ALAS the birth of the Bosnian Muslim nation. |

Well Bob, we say the same about Bosnian Christian-Orthodox such as yourself but its hard to sit down and agree on much, as you already know.
The main problem lies on one side always trying to impose their views on someone else. Its an obsession that is borderline a mental sickness.
Its also unbelievable to think how Turkified the Serbian language really is. I mean, I sometimes hear Serbs using Turkish words that not even Bosnian Muslims use.
Plus, Mapko was one of the first Serbs on this board to admit and state that the Serbian blood is 'polluted' by the Turks which often brings up the question to as why are some Serbs so obsessed with Bosniaks for example, when in reality they should take their issue up with real Turks.
The world is so confusing sometimes.

Well, that is somewhat correct, but in a way the relations between Muslims and Serbs are just an indicator how much Christianity is important in serbian identity, and how much it contributed to its shaping. Abandoning Christianity was in a way abandoning of the legacy of both Sveti Sava and our pre-christian ancestors because in a way we managed to merge Orthodoxy and some pagan traditions, such as slava, poklade, zadusnice, etc... Accepting Islam meant cancellation of whole serbian national being... That's how I see it.
On the other hand, Albanians didn't have much to lose with becoming Muslim, so... They didn't differentiate even when they changed the religion.

serbs are a freakish nation. there is like 8 million of them on the balkan, they have their own nation, yet they want albanian land, croatian land, bosnian land, macedonian land, they want croats to be serbs they especialy want bosniaks to be serbs, some even want kosovo albanians to be serbs. nothing is ever enough for them. they dont let go of idiocy even when its hurting them and when its useless to them.
chauvenism to the fullest.
i advise all bosniaks to ignore these threads from now on, we have nothing to prove and its getting boring. ignore the serbians, the vlachs, and the orthodox bosnians. they are insane.

Oh and I'll just say one thing to 1389. Ill go back on my own advice just to mock this part once.
Serbs and Croats share TONSSSSSSSSS of surnames. Half the time if it wasn't for first names you wouldn't even know who's who. Way more then Bosniaks and Serbs. That's rare. In fact there is way more simmilarity between you two in GENERAL then between us.And in the cases Serbs and Bosniaks do share surnames, it's cute how you assume those are "originaly" Serbian names, even if they are native to Bosnia. Cuz of course "Serbs" are the native inhabitants of Bosnia.
So to belive what you belive you have to belive all the typical Serbian nationalistic land-grabbing bulls**t. Fail.

It's hard to deny historical facts.
But that Muslim-Baby:Serb teeenager topic drives the point home. It is why the Ottomans were so thorough in taking young children.
The Bosniak nation today was built on the foundations of Ottoman Turks taking Serbian children and poisioning them with their idealogoies for nearly 500 years.
I do and always have said though - today the Bosniaks (Bosnian Muslims) are their own seperate nation BUT it is important not to fabricate history.
Mehmed-pasa Sokolovic would be considered a Bosniak today - and even he would be sickened by it.

So how do you explain there being a mix of Christian and Muslim Albanians? we dont identify by religion we identify by what we are religon is a personal thing if my brother wont to become athesit he still my brother no matter what religon he is that what happend with albanians . i still dont get what the difference with croats serbs and bosnians apart from religion!!! |

We hate the muslims purely for the fact that they are based on treason and traitors. Essentially they are serbs who converted to the islam during the Ottoman era because they had no balls to fight. Personaly boli me kurac odakle su Bosnjaci what I care about is that BiH belongs to Serbs as much as it does to Croats and Muslims and if it isnt clear to anyone yet, not one of the above peoples will accept the others domination or rule so you have what we have now.
All should be glad that the fighting has stopped instead of trying to pick new ones.
