25% non-religious and atheists if we add them together. A quarter of the country. I would say that number is probably even higher.

^ Exactly what I've been saying for months now, muslims account for less than half of Albs in Albania. (of course a bit higher percentage in kosovo and macedonia amongst albs)
Thanks for bringing it up though.

Catholics have risen as well. Although most people would be grouped as non-religious.

Lol. Such stupidity. First of all, where were these polls taken? How many polled? Who organized them? Fact is there have been no real countrywide religious polls since the Italians did them in the 30s. The 'World Christian Encyclopedia' is cited here... interesting... a Christian encyclopedia minimizing the number of Muslims in favor of Christians and, convertable, 'non-believers'. There is no basis for believing ANY of this until a proper religious statistic is actually achieved. This is, ofcourse, a cheap attempt at minimizing Islam in Albania. You guys find it praiseworthy that Muslims have gone down but Christians have rise. Well, sorry, but until a proper statistic is done, this remains the percentage in Albania, estimated: www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/al.htmlMuslim 70%, Albanian Orthodox 20%, Roman Catholic 10% note: percentages are estimates; there are no available current statistics on religious affiliation; all mosques and churches were closed in 1967 and religious observances prohibited; in November 1990, Albania began allowing private religious practice A 'bit' higher in Kosovo and Macedonia? I have yet to find a single Kosovo Albanian or Tetovar who, if Muslim by heritage, does not say that he is, even if he doesnt necessarily worship. In Kosovo and Macedonia, the vast vast majority of Albanians are Muslims, by heritage and in most cases by definition. So saying 'a bit higher' is a joke if your going by such statistics at least.

from the link you posted: "note: percentages are estimates; there are no available current statistics on religious affiliation".
No statistics is better than a bad statistics.
Even if a real national-wide statistic was held, the number of non-believers is believed to be very high.
I really do hope the number of Catholics go up. That would shut up all (greeks, serbs and islam-minded Albanians) once and for all.

On Saturdays you can go to synagogues too... ;D...you would have three days off...for sure...and especially on saturdays you won't do absolutely anything...just drink, eat and sleep...i think the ...other is not allowed... Its very good...eg. an albanian named something like Kristo Mohameti should add a typical jewish name...lets say Koen...Kristo Mohameti-Koen... ;D

the majority of albs in albania proper are muslims which account for over 50%, the nukmber used to be higher but due to migration to the west many muslim families have picked up christianity, which is understandable to some degree, but mostly its the intense islamophobia raging in the west and a lot of albs conciously have severed ties with islam....although i would say that 70% could be classified as mild believers who could be easily swayed.
