So, it will have many uses: ads, multimedia, for concerts, for sport, festivals. In the video Skopje 2014 there is a bigger one, first this one, then, the bigger one. I hope it will be realized. Now the workers are testing it and it should be in use in a few days.

The garage in Prilep get opened and full for PIVOFEST, which lasted 4 days. The city was full. 35000 cars, many buses, the special PIVOFEST train was full. Only the last evening when Svetlana Raznatovik Ceca was performing, there were 120k people. And for 4 days there were over 320k people in the city. 239 tones of beer were drunk, 123 tones of grill were eaten. Profit ~ 3 million Euros. There were people from Macedonia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Greece, Albania, France, USA and Australia
For next year, they plan to make the festival a regional one, also the best one in the Balkans.
There is an another one, Festival of beer in Skopje on the Kale, the PivoLand which is getting as popular as the one in Prilep. It is held every year in autumn, September 18-21.
The PIVOFEST in Prilep was held 15-18 July
I like this kind of festivals. They are getting more common in Macedonia, not just these beer ones, all of them.

I heard about the beer festival and how it was a success. Every year it gets bigger and bigger it seems. Hopefully it continues on with that growth of popularity.
But I'm not sure I like the giant LED screen on that building. Maybe it will look good at night but at the moment, I'm not impressed.

It feels like only myself and fossil ever visit this thread. Does anyone else look in here? Should we continue to post these updates or does nobody care anymore?

Let me ask you, Nikola. Do our country looks different to you? Does it looks more like a organized country as the time goes. Is there a big difference, from your last visit?
by the way.... on 5 August Rabotnicki-Liverpool. It should be on the city's stadium. Because Teteks will play on 5 August, too. Maybe Uefa will set the times for both matches to be played on this stadium.

It's difficult to say because I'm only seeing Skopje through pictures now and that doesn't show me everything. It certainly seems to be progressing but I don't know. I should probably be asking you that question. Does it seem different to you compared to a few years ago?

I think it's just you and me Kristijan. I might leave this thread alone for a while until someone else shows an interest. Because it feels like we are wasting our time like this.

A lot. Maybe not because the finished projects, but the initiatives, ideas, thinking. People are asking for better lifes, and they are trying.
If we talk about the other cities, there is a lot from them, too. Skopje is not the only one developing.
Strumica got Global, do reconstructions and renovation of old buildings, agriculture investments for ex. AGROPLOD. Also do the square.
Gevgelija have a huge Casino-hotels business. It has only ~400 unemployed people.
Stip has a new University, new industrial zone. Also it should have a new cargo airport in less than 10 years.
Tetovo has a new urgent hospital center. new industrial zone, new square, new business- office centers, like Rem, City.....
Bitola do well always.
Ohrid- reconstruction, construction, new by-pass road, tourism, the airport....
reconstructing roads in the country, hospitals, schools, concessions. Also TUSH, Mercator, VERO, Ramstore have new malls in Tetovo, Veles, Kumanovo.
But this is just construction works... named..... i could easily forget many to number....
I don't know, maybe we are not that good. But as a 16 year old boy I feel the situation I am in quite good. I do not have worries, or problems, and i have all the needs. My father has a salary of 20000 den., which is about 335 euros. My mum try to work in the summer some jobs, like the one on the works on the Kale and she had ~10000den each month, 4 moths, which is about 165 euros a month. But the money goes in the bank. So we can make it with 335 euros. It is very cheap here. Low salaries, but very cheap. We don't have credits to be payed, except for the excursion in Ohrid last year, but that's nothing, 4 months. We payed it. I and my brother do a lot of hanging out. And we are good. This year we won't go to a vacation, but that is because we renovate the apartment and we spent a lot of money. But we are ok.
So the most families are like or better than us. There are also who are in worse situation.
I do not know, really. We do not have a high standard, but we do have a good life. It is very strange when you know that in EU the salaries are Min. 600-800 euros. They can live here for two months with one salaries and spend a lot.
I and my brother did go 6 years in English classes, +2 years I was learning German. Every year we went out of Skopje for vacations, except this one.
We go to good schools, because schools are getting way better.
It is relative. In some areas we have a great progress, in some not that fast, and in some we are in one place, not moving. But that is for now. I expect a good future.
People have hope, even we are far behind from a developed country.

I'm glad to hear it, that things are looking up for Macedonia and that life is good for you.
There is a misconception that some Macedonians have about western countries. They think people earn a lot of money and that everyone is rich but it's not really true. When I visited Macedonia, my Australian dollars were worth a lot so it seemed to everyone there like I was rich but in reality, I'm not. When I take my Australian dollars back to Australia, they don't buy me much, they just buy a lot in Macedonia because of the weak currency there.
And also, the only reason people have new cars and big houses in western countries is because banks give out credit easier. People get credit, and then spend their entire lives paying off the loan. In Macedonia, like you said, people just buy what they can and then live a free life.
The only thing that's required there is more employment. If they can get the unemployment below 10%, then it would be really good. But I think Macedonia is on the correct path. They just need to keep going and in five years or so, it will be very good.
