PODGORICA -- The government of Montenegro announced on Thursday in Podgorica that it had decided to open an embassy in Kosovo.
Montenegro is interested in developing its relations with Kosovo on all levels, said a statement by the government.
The Montenegrin government's decision to open the embassy "confirms that good relations with neighbours and development of regional cooperation represent a lasting goal, stimulating progress in the countries of the region when it comes to EU and Euroatlantic integration and boosting stability in the region as a whole," the government said.
Montenegro recognized Kosovo as indeendent in October 2008, and ordered the Foreign Ministry to establish diplomatic relations in January 2010.
Kosovo's ethnic Albanians unilaterally declared independence in February 2008.
Serbia rejects the proclamation and considers Kosovo its southern province.

Lol yeah I'm sure they have Belgrade's interests in mind. "We will recognize sovereignty in order to set up an embassy there. Maybe that way we can reverse this process." Is it a common Serb characteristic to try to turn s**t into gold?

Maybe you didn't keep in mind that Serb nationalists are working in Podgorica, the Parliament of Montenegro. The Socialist People's Party of Montenegro (SNP CG) holds almost the entire half of Parliament seats. One of their major-platforms revolves around Serbian-Montenegrin Unionism. It strongly oposed the independance and is currently the largest opposition Party in Montenegro, since 2009. And they're not alone. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serb_List

Hardly an attempt or opportunity to reverse anything but there are other very real opportunity's here.....and, It is Not just a Serb characteristic but every country, business, in fact every person on this planet who wants to succeed needs to learn how to turn s**t into gold ...whats the matter with you ?

You guys have a time dealing with reality. How the fick is this a benefit for Serbia? The benifit is that Montenegrins naturally fallback to their roots, many of them still can't take seriously the fact that they are an independant nation. It was more of a shock to them than it was for Serbians. Plus, now we go two criminal "nations" who are now able to perform criminal activity in the open (as opose to hiding everything - which they did anyway), so what's the difference Shqipni? It's actually quite poetic, the CG-campaign and the Kosovo campaign are orchestrated by the same people... you got your candy, but sorry for making it sour.

Too bad. I don't mind giving the Montenegrins ethnic minority status as there's a Montenegrin minority presence there already and no harm will be done. An embassy and therefore an increase in diplomatic relations between the two countries is good. Branilo, Novi Pazar and Uz; be realistic. An embassy in a country doesn't entail "infiltration", "getting behind enemy lines", etc., those ideas aren't fit for a movie script, much less real life. A Montenegrin embassy in Kosova will simply establish diplomatic relations between the two countries. I guess you have to feed yourselves with unrealistic ideas to convince yourselves that this is in Serbian interests.

I just love the term "diplomatic-relations", isn't it so magical? Two simple words put together which can carry so much weight yet at the same time mean absolutely nothing at all.

Diplomatic relations are two separate words, not one compound word. Diplomatic relations are the basics of diplomacy. It should be pretty simple to understand, most people probably understand it intuitively from the first time they hear it. I can't care to go into a discussion over whether diplomatic relations has a meaning or not, so I just copy-pasted the following. "a relationship between two countries in which they send diplomats to work in each other’s country establish/break off diplomatic relations: The United States broke off diplomatic relations with Cuba in 1961." www.macmillandictionary.com/dictionary/british/diplomatic-relationsI think you might just be the only person to believe that diplomatic relations lacks any meaning. Seriously, are you going to turn against accepted terminology? Speaking of meaningless/worthless words, your post is a mixture of both. Could you put an effort into actually debating what others say? At this point, it seems more to me that you have no counter-argument, only vague, unrelated and cheap rhetoric.

lack meaning? I didn't say that. I said as much as it can carry weight, it can also mean absolutely nothing.
Take for instance; "Kosovo was to improve diplomatic relations with Serbia" ... or "The USA wants to bring peace and stabity in Afghanistan" - different example, but same exact purpose.
You don't seem the type of guy to get fooled by these talismanic terms. <fight for freedom - fight for equality - bringing democracy and/or the pursuit for democracy - my personal favorite... alleged - widely-seen - suspected and the obvious one; Truth.

don't get sensitive on me Groet, this isn't a debate thread. Either Kosovo will have a Montenegro embassy or it wont.
