Kosovar are Albanian ethnic group whose arrival (of Albanians in Albania and Kosovo) is not mentioned anywhere in History! The land used to be called Dardania, and etymology shows connection with Albanian language only!
What is the connection with Slavic invasion? Is this your question?

Im actually neutral on the issue. I just find it ironic that Russia took a certain stance on Kosova that goes completely opposed to its stance here... Worse yet, Russia has been doing this to Georgia for far longer. The fact that all these ossentians have Russian citizenship is a sign of that...

Karta is right, whats with the USA and Europe? Why dont they recognize an independence of these regions...it is very clear that they dont want to be anymore a part of Georgia...thats not just hypocritical....it is extremely hypocritical.
Where is justice here? The best example that the americans and generally the NATO dont act for justice...but for their interests.
Russias behaviour is just a reaction in the end....and its their good right to do so...f.ucking america may it go down finally....their hypocricy is abhorrent.

Both are hypocrites. Russians have been doing this to Georgia for a long time. They jump to protect the Ossentians but butchered the Chechians and their self-determination. Russia in fact, is far more contradictory since in all of its history, it has done nothing but destroy the self-determination of others around it. Why is it that everyone who borders Russia despises it so much?

And btw, dont think those Ossentians will truly get the "self-determination". They will get the chance to reunite with Russia and thats it, any further hope for a state would be crushed.

No, the Russians do at least not portray themselves as a holy nation and country...and as the world's liberators.
May the Russians do the same with Georgia as the Americans did with Serbia. And none, the least the Americans will be able to stop them. Their double moral standards will be their fate.

Both are bad and hypocritical. Both say one thing and do another. They are all only looking after their own interest and care nothing of the people they are claiming to help.

Russsia have warning America a partition of Kosovo would open a Pandora’s Box.Georgia declared independence from Russia. Georgia fears impact of Kosovo crisis in Caucasus !. Ukraine and Georgia want to join the Nato.Georgias Intervention in Southern Ossetia was a big mistake. Northern & Southern Ossetia is under Russian control now. Who is behind this threat ?`? What Happened to Yugoslavia? Russia is a Superpower and nobody can control or destroy the Independence of Russia. The Russian Intervention was a warning Message to UsA and Nato and also an response to U.S. missile shield in Czechia and Poland. Russia did not Intervent in Kosovo conflict and the same will do UsA in Caucasus [glow=red,2,300]I think nobody will interfere in Russian affairs thats fact [/glow] Alert News : Russian Military Intervention in Georgia Abkhazia & Azerbaijzan is next... Would Turkey go on War to help Azerbaijan In Kosovo the Russians were spectators and now in Caucasus War UsA(Nato) are spectators !! My condolences go out to the families of the victims civilians child, kids, old people, women who have lost their lives in this War !

Georgia had invaded it and targeted civilians (without any warning!) in Ossetia. This alone by far is extreme and Russia's answer was expected. What Georgia didnt expect was that Russian will hit targets inside Georgia and Russian will not stop it when Georgians decide when to stop it.
One very foolish act by Georgia's PM. Most propably he was waiting for help from US. He failed.. he bairs the consequences..
PS. Question: How many wars Boush will start before he lives the white house? I'm afraid that he's gonna make the globe look like bordel from the wars before he lives.
That idea to souround Russia with mishiles... will open many new wars..
I'm with Russia on this issue. Georgia did a mistake.

I think Russia is making use of this situation. Of course they overreact. Now where Georgia has even proclaimed armistice, they nevertheless go on with their military actions. The Russians want to show....they are back. They are on their way to become a leading superpower again...they are someone again on this planet....after they got almost forgotten since 1990. And they show the Americans...look what we are doing...we are similar to you...and are even not in need to hide behind hypocritical apologies as you are always doing.
I like what the Russians are doing...the exploding oil prices catapulted them forward....the world is tired of the Americans. I hope this war will be the first step to some changes regarding the leading positions on this earth.
Europe should stick together now...and look for its own interests only for a change....detaching itself from only-american interests.

This is all strategical for Russia. Unfortunately the tactical part of the strategy has a bloodshed of civilians from both sides as a price. But it is obvious that Russia is using the situation for repositioning in a better footing to here global interests.
Russia is feeling nervous. On one side Europe looks every day more and more contoured as one. Baltic states are gone, eastern European states went to Europe's account. Caucus states is the last bastion for Russia in controlling or influencing how far the Future Europe will spread. An Ukrainian member of Future Europe, Caucus states falling in the Future Europe are Russia's nightmare. They feel now or never if this scenario is ever to be stopped. America is just an easy target for the moment the underlying interest is influence how big a potential Future Europe is going to be. On the other side is India and China growing freakishly. The raise of last 8 years of Russia even though is impressive has made Russian realize that after coming out of ashes is not going to be only them.. Won't be alone in this raise, but outflanked with 3 other new power centers; EU, India, China and all of them in the immediate border. The most aggressive polities for now are from the European front. EU is expanding and encircling Russia. It looks as Russia is standing to direct American interest, but as funny as it might sound America is fighting as a European proxy in this area. Of course it serves Americas interest, but in long terms is Europe's gain.
Russia is making sure that wont accept enlargement of a superpower in the border. They are putting their step down now that Europe (EU) it is yet a Parliament and a long list of colorful leaders and not a strongly solidified entity.
And in 30-40 years north Africa and middle east might tend to create a union. The logical result is better act now and act fast.
unfortunately Ossetia, Abkazia, Georgia are in the friction way. Hope they can take the heat and come out of this with minimal damage.
