Arvanitika is a dialect mix of ancient greek latin & turkish words
The First Arvanites come from Northern Epirus to Greece Thessaly in 13-Century. After the death of Georgios Kastriotis come more and more Arvanites to Greece. Arvanites were the same people like the other Greeks and become Orthodox christian. The fought together with the other Greek Brothers the Turks,Turkalbanians and in the Greek Revolution 1821 fought for the Independence of Greece.

Of course for the Greeks Arvanitika has to be anything else but Albanian. It can even be Turkish. In no way it has to be Albanian. There we also find the truth. That is that Greeks are really just bull$hitting when they say their sworn enemies are the Turks. What they really mean is their enemies are the Albanians. They are fine with any Turkish influence or imprint on the Greek society and Greek nation. Mention anything similar regarding Albania and Albanians and the average Greek turns into a flaming screaming b!tch.
Karta, Arxhileas, Canaris, etc etc. So many examples here in the Greek forum.

Pyrros was raised by Glaucus, an Illyrian king. He gave Pyrros the throne. Alexander's mom was Illyrian. nothing made up here. Suliotes were a mixed people. And plenty of Greeks with clear Albanian roots took part in the Greek revolution to get the Turks out. The thing is that unlike your kind we are able to think and not just devour crap from extremist. No matter the origins of these people any sane person will tell you that this does not mean that they weren't Greek. You on the other hand when it comes to Albanians base their ethnicity on religion. And that is a d!ckheaded way of thinking. Simple as that.

You gotta lotta nerve Mehmet, especially since majority of Albanians in this forum support the idea of Albanians being the sole liberators of Greece. I think Patrinos had it right when he laughed and asked why did you not liberate your own country, Albania. Arvanites were and remain a part of the Hellenic identity. They killed Turkalbanians en masse and now you claim them to be a part of the Albanian ethos?

Illyrians be treated as Greeks, and there take part in the Olympic Games. Cadmus have an oracle in Illyria . Pyrrhus claimed descent from the Epirot royal family from Achilles Greek name Ðõññïò (Pyrros) which meant "flame-coloured, red", related to ðõñ (pyr) "fire"... I know an Illyrian King named Monounios To you want more illyrian coins very Illyrian in origin the Greek Illyrikon Greek Illyris Amantia Byllis Oricus Heraclea Issa Pharos Epidamnos Apollonia Korcyra etc,,, . Olympias (c.376- 316 B.C.) was the daughter of Neoptolemus, king of Epirus Souliotes Selloi = Souliotes in ancient Hellas, in between Dodona and the Achelous river the land occupied by Selloi to be known as Hellenes About the Heroes of the Greek Revolution 1821 the are pure Greeks. some are Kleftes who fled to the Mountains or the greek Island or in other fled to other countries when Greece was under Ottoman rule. The organized outsite Greece the liberation movement an come back to fought the turkish and albanian tyranny to free greece from Ottoman rule.

How about you Greks?

Once upon a moon ago. There is no such thing as Arvanite anymore but Greek. Those few that identify as Albanian; you can count them with your fingers. We can call them extinct. You folks can't even stick to a story, you cancel your self's out every time why ? Because a lie can be forgotten due to being none existant memory, where as the truth is always remembered because it's the truth IT EXISTS IN REAL MEMORY. The Arvanites and Soulis held the Greek flag with such high pride during the Greek Revolution for the freedom and Glory Of Greece as free proud Greeks... .
