^^^ ULF
"mi smo preveli what?"
by your logic, Ozeros, Smolikas, Olytsika are non-slav as well....
i dont know dude, what you ask is impossible, all we do is speculations and amateur research, nobody is going to give you concrete proof, unless a serious academic deals with it and publish some papers on it. What i know is that when i visited "Toplou" monastery (btw this "Toplou" is the warmest place in Crete (naj-toplje)!!, where even banana trees are cultured), i swear, i never found such a huge collection of Russian ecclesiastic articles, paintings, manuscripts in any monastery i have been in my life. There were Serb paintings, manuscripts as well.
I am sure, the Ruskies have *huge* collection of evidence about who is who and who has been where and when. But Serbs of course zzzzzzzzzzzz....zzzzzzzzzzz.....

^^ Not exactly. The Armenian army and the anti-bogomil forces. Patrine, about south italy, its not my theory, i read it from Charanis. Didn;t you ever have the question as of why Roumeli, Ipiros, Thessaly, Makedonia, and certain Islands like Mytilini, Chios) speak in the same ... "vlah-like" way while Peloponese/Crete/southern Aegean speak more clearly, without cutting/altering the vowels? (dont ask me about the pontians cutting the vowels, i really dont have an explanation) why? Peloponnesians-Cretans-Southern Aegeans are Italians? I said GREEKS from south italy, with a small exception, your ancestors who were clearly albanian. ;D

I want to hear Aadmin's side of the story because Nikola's first post really stunned me, l thought l was looking at an Anglo/Celt!. I believe the first Slavs to arrive to the Balkans were of a Nordic race and Neo-Danubian types. The Sorbs or Serbski people of Eastern Germany were noted for their Nordic appearance. I m sure you have little to do with the nordic. As a Torlak, you are probably south european, mediteranean type as most Bulgarians. First slavs have nothing to do with the dagestan Serbs (iranians) from Afganistan. And if you tell us that at least they are indoEUROPEAN, I must remind u that there are 0 iranians living presently in Europe so no they are asian. lol @ ignorance 1) Serbs are essentially Dinaric and there are many Norics(not to be confused with Nordics). South Mediterranean looking folks are minority and large % of them are Atlanto-Mediterranean(those are commonly Serbs that have Macedonian, south Serbian, Croatian or Herzegovinian roots), and not those typical south-eastern Mediterranean types common for all non-ex-Yugoslav countries 2) Serbs don't have their roots from Dagestan or whatever, but eastern Germany, Western Poland and Czech Republic territory. 3) Check Czech-Moravian language and you will see that huge amounts of words are SAME as in Serbian Those things I wrote are FACTS!

Ioan, for some reason i like you. From all the turko-bulgars you seem the most "slav" to me. Please get over the anti-serb hatred they have imposed in your heart, especially when that hatred dictates complete loss of connection with reality.
When you are arguing (e.g.) about who had the first factories in the balkans, and you claim that Croats did it before Serbs, just because you hate Serbs, its idiotic.
In a few days i am going to Sofia with my Serb wife to show her around. I have been propagandizing for this trip for a long time since she didnt even want to hear the word : Bulgaria.
You see the difference?

Origin of Serbs - Traces and possible migrations of Serbs
The Serbs were mentioned by Plinius the Younger in the first century AD (69-75) as living on the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov as Serboi in his Geographica. In the 2nd century, Herodotus writes in his Persian Wars that Serbs (Serboi, Sirboi - Serboi, Sirboi) live behind the Caucasus, near the hinterland of the Black Sea. In the fourth century the Carpathians are mentioned as Montes Serrorum (Serb mountains?) by the Roman emperor Licinius. In the Caucasus, the homeland of the Sarmatian Serbs, they left their traces around the river Volga (Araxes in Greek). In modern Georgian, that river is called "Rashki". This name was used by Balkan Serbs as a name for their first state and is found wherever the name Serb is found in clusters indicating settlements. It is often used to designate hydronyms and likely meant 'river' or 'water' in Old Serb. The Serbs possible migrated in two directions from the Caucasus, northwest and northeast. Those who went northwest became overlords to the Slavs. There they established a mighty empire and became slavicized. Konstantine Porfirogenitus called this "White Serbia". Their descendants are known as Lusatian Serbs today and despite immense Germanization, there are still a few thousand left. These we can also call 'White Serbs'. There is theory that the other branch of Sarmatian Serbs maybe moved northeast to the southern base of the Urals, settled there for a period of time. We can call them 'Volga Serbs'. They possible moved to the east and went deep into Siberia and left its traces in the names of cities and towns along the coast of the Sea of Japan. They faded out with onslaught from the Mongols. These we can call 'Siberian Serbs'. It seems likely that Siberia was named after this Old Serb tribe. White Serbs were probably completely Slavicized by the 6th century. The descendants of these Slavicized White Serbs are today's Lusatian Sorbs. One branch of these White Serbs have left White Serbia, and according to Porfirogenitus, came to the Balkans (7th century), invited by Heracleus, defeated the Avars and were given Macedonia to inhabit. There they took the already settled Slavs (who began arriving in the 5th and 6th centuries) under their control and mixed with them to form modern Serb nation. These Slavs who came before the Serbs had already assimilated the Illyrians, who were an Indo-European people. Many historians agree that the old Serbs were no Slavs, but a non-Slavic caste ruling over Slavs, though Serbs, which entered Balkans in the 7th century, were mainly Slavs, which adopted Serbian name. Toponyms related to the Serb name and connections between toponyms and possible migrationsIn Caucasus region, we find some of the toponyms related to the Serb name in Georgia (Serbaisi, Serebryannoye or Serebryanyy, Serebryanoye), and Azerbaijan (Serebovski or Serebrovskiy, Seri-abad, Ser-Abad). There are also many toponyms related to the Serb name found in Russia, Ukraine , Belarus, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Germany, which can maybe show possible ways of the migration of Serbs from the Caucasus to Central Europe and to their present location in the Balkans www.experiencefestival.com/a/Origin_of_Serbs_-_Traces_and_possible_migrations_of_Serbs/id/5356305

Yeah, Ioan's a cool guy. There's no anti-Serb hatred, there's hardly any hatred in Bulgarians as a whole. I think that after all that we (all Balkan people) have been through it looks as we have the least hatred from all of our neighbors. The bottom line is that you and your buddy Pazar support the same politics of hatred of the past. Personally, I don't have respect for you, or onyone else who supports such politics. It doesn't matter if you are Serb or Greek or Turk or whatever.. if you whole heartedly support that BS that was coming from Serbia's earlier governemnts and later from Yugoslavia, then you might as well dissapear as to me you are nothing but vermin. It's people like you that have brought much hardship to the Balkans in general. No one hates Serbs, you gotta stop promoting this 'victim' mentality. The problem is the politics that were pushed on to the people, now you have the option of making things right. So stop with the hatred, do try to realize that Serbs are not the epitome of purity and perfection and move on. Buddy, then don't go to Bulgaria. It's as simple as that. But if you do hapen to show your face there, please do try to "educate" my people on who we are. I'd really like to see what they do when you share your true opinions about my people.

I hope you have a great time here! I dont hate Serbs! Especially Serbs like Arsenije! On the contrary! But people with ideas like Novi (and he poisons u) are the ones that are out of reality!

I'd really like to see what they do when you share your true opinions about my people. You made your self clear. I dont think that anyone should pay any attention to whatever you say. After all your BS against Serbs, i am trying to bring my wife to Bulgaria to show her around this great piece of slavic history and the connections between Serbs and Bulgarians and you answer to me, like that. Your motives are crystal clear.Thank you for exposing them. Serbs dont play the victim. Never. That's not our style. Serbs are generous. And good. (much like the majority of the Bulgarians, except a few criminals like you)

Pyrros man it's awkward listening to you & especially Novi constantly flame the Bulgarians... especially when you should know that 99% of Serbs simply view Bulgarians as a similar friendly slavic Orthodox neighbour.

Also many of those Dinaric looking people in Albania are actually Dinaricized Mediterraneans, at least for my eye as they look different then Yugoslavs

So then you're a Serb now? I thought you were a Greek yesterday.. I was at a history lecture a few years back. The professor was Russian I believe, and he was teaching a class on the 'Significance of Slavs in South Eastern Europe'. Anyhow, his comments in one of the very first lectures were along the lines of; 'Slavs aren't a pure people, all Slavic groups are mixed with one or more other groups' and then he said something along the lines of 'the origin of present day Bulgars, Croats, and Serbs is very similar as they are all a mix of Irannic and Slavic tribes'.. to which, this Serbian chick sitting behind me exclaimed 'I thought Bulgars were different!?' Hahaha, I guess she was expecting that I'd have slanted eyes. How's that for ignorant..

Actually, come to think of it.. I had a professor in another history class who was Serbian. She was from Pirot too of all places. Once she made a comment 'Bulgarians are different' as different from Serbs, Bosniaks, Croats, and I think she even meant different from Macedonians. She didn't continue her train of thought and switched the topic.
Anyhow, I didn't appreciate her tone much as she said that.. If she wasn't a she, I would have humiliated her in front of the whole class.. she had made some other fairly simplistic comments regarding other topics of history, but I kindda felt sorry for her and decided not to call her out.
Heh, so I don't exactly know what they were teaching you in school during Yugoslavia.. but, it sure as hell ain't accurate.

There are all different kind of theories recently, but not a single one was provided with significant fact, especially concerning origins of Serbs. Look for example what this bato guy posted up above, Serbororum mountains blablabla, but not a single evidence of validity concerning that theory he presented. Unless there is some significant DNA material and archeological findings contradicting the current theory on Serbs then there is no single reason why I should believe in these lectures of your professor. Not to mention by this statement 'Slavs aren't a pure people, all Slavic groups are mixed with one or more other groups' he is denying well documented facts
