some quotes from this Greek produced documentary and brought to you by the National Bank Of Greece ...... "The Albanian element within the Greek element brought LIVELINESS ,MOMENTUM AND BRAVERY " "And these 2 mixes of elements gives us Modern Greece ""The adaptation of the fustanella is from the Albanian speakers of the balkans "
"A wardrobe that's clearly Albanian when pertaining to who it belongs "

in this documentary many Greeks were outraged and left confused and a few others held their heads up high ....their Church was outraged and were even telling people not to watch it .
to us Albanians its normal knowledge ,and what we been preaching forever on these forums ....
but now they understand the truth regardless if they like it or not ,the truth comes out in the wash always ...

What are you talking about, Rex? The Greek admixture in Albanians or the Albanian admixture in Greeks and if so, which Greeks?

I find this documentary quite felicitious....just...its nothing for peasants like rex...they start immediately claiming everything Greek...and thats pretty nasty (und just stupid).

^nope, I speak turkish as my first language. Both of them know greek, my father is much fluent than my mother though. I guess it was their personal choice because we are living in a global world etc. and that shit. They thought that an eventual return to greece is not probable in the near future and the old 500.000 community is no more. I guess less then 5000 greeks remain. Therefore, phanariots have ceased to be a sizeable community, I would say that what holds us together is religion nowadays.

Thats terrible. Do yourself a favour and learn Greek....your parents are inexcusable. Turkish as first language...for a Romios....a Romios speaking this utterly ugly language as first language...what a shame. I was in Constantinople some months ago...I hate them for what they did to the Fanar. Its a dirty hole full of kurdish people and backward conservative muslims today...the Turks put them there on purpose...

Well its not that bad actually ;D but maybe cos I am used to it. And yes, what has happened to phanar is beyond words to explain A friend of mine came to visit me last year from thesseloniki, and wanted to visit phanar... He went mental, some kurds had killed a dog in the middle of the street and there was blood everywhere... Balat and Fener are now slums, mainly settled by easterners...
