Here's a description of Albanians in Prishtina by an American blogger; "Alright enough about that the apartment, or flat (like my Irish UN friend Dave would call it), let me tell you more about the city. I was expecting simple people dressed in clothing that you would find fashionable 20 years ago and at that kind of ragged. I also expected the people to be malnourished (I read that Kosova has an unemployment rate of nearly 60%) with all the complexities that that brings such as missing teeth, hunched over, etc. I couldn't be more wrong. People here are dressed in the newest fashions from around the world. In fact it seems that every other shop in the city is either a trendy clothing boutique with a name like "Arsenal" or a shoe store. People here aren't malnourished either. I'm not a tall guy, but I've never really thought that I was extremely short either. Here, it seems that everyone is 6 feet tall, including the women. Most people have extremely good hygiene, at least it seems) and are very attractive looking. Guys, I swear to you when I say this- the women here are downright gorgeous. I'm talking HOT EUROPEAN SUPERMODELS gorgeous. Unbelievably gorgeous actually. And I'm no homo (sorry I'm not a PC type of guy) but the dudes here are some serious studs. There is no real "look" to Albanians (People from Kosova are actually ethnic Albanians). Some have blond hair and blue eyes. Some have dark features with blue eyes. Some have dark hair and features and brown eyes. Some have a typical Russian look. Some have a Mediterranean look. But I swear to you when I say this, it seems as if the largest modeling firms in the world have set up shop in Prishtina and everyone of their models lives in this city. " myexcellentadventures.blogspot.com/2008/09/first-impressions-of-prishtina.htmlPS Greek women look like Greek men ... with slightly more boobs and slightly less facial hair.

You're actually quite right, that is also why I mentioned earlier that I hereby am ignoring Vasili, because you cannot argue with the stupid.

Pyrros = Dwight Schrute -Mentally unstable and is in constant paranoia. Vasil = Michael Scott -Even at his older age, Vasil can not find the errors in his mentality. Kanaris = Andy Bernard -Rude, sensational and says the most random things for a reaction. Eva=Angela Martin -Mentally unstable and religious. Patrinos= Creed Bratton -Creepy. That's all I have to say. Haven't seen it in a while lol. But those would be my comparisons. Hahaha, nice comparisons. Also add s**tty to Eva/Angela Martin, the episodes where she cheats on Andy with Dwight are hilarious.

""""""My maternal grandfather, born 1938, was at 6'5 ft probably taller than all these well fed Greeks of these forums."""""" So we can guess that your grandfather came from a valley. And today he would be like over seven feet tall. Wow Donnie (JOKING ASIDE). Who gives a fug about your grandfather and how tall he was. I would rather be average height and have a solid build. Being tall means s**t. Wow, you trully are a retard. Was it I who brought in height into the discussion? No, it was Vasili, your compatriot. Was it I who claimed there's a correlation between high altitude and stature? No retard, it was your gfted Vasili. Take it up with him ...

x2 I am going to officially ignore Basil as of now, like Toskali recommended.
PS Does anyone here watch "The Office"? In light of that show, if one does a little comparison, the absurdity of that show is to be found in real life as well in these forums ... especially when reading Greek comments.
My maternal grandfather, born 1938, was at 6'5 ft probably taller than all these well fed Greeks of these forums.

How do you guys know who is Albanian or Greek... are you making conclusions based on looks? No, I listened to the language they spoke. And also got the chance to speak with some tepelenas ... that's how I made the conclusion on Himara's tiny population.

Too late for comebacks, you already got burned. You know why? Because you cannot acknowledge our hotness and then make a ninety degree turn

Again; get off your mythical horses. Last time I checked Himara had a population of two-three thousand people. Could have grown bigger these last couple of years especially with the people leaving their villages in the north and settling down south. If it has grown in population it is with Albanians. In 2008 I was there during summer and there were quite a few Albanians in Himara, mostly from Tepelene, opening up businesses etc. But even so, it's very sparsely populated and I couldn't imagine living there the rest of the year ... depressive.

No, can't say you have. You dont have the mental capability. God, I can't justify myself having a conversation with you ... Toskali was right.
And you've never contemplated the idea that it might be related to nutrition, and the fact that those Albanians you see in Greece represent the poorest strata of society ... ? That, my not so gifted friend, is probably a more logical explanation than high altitude when concerning height ... because ironically, the tallest Albanians are found in the mountainous north, which is the most mountainous part of the country.
You trully are a moron. You successfully contradicted yourself in the same post. If environment plays a role as you believe, and mountains produce short people, then how come Montenegrins are so tall? The Slavic equation doesn't work, because you said environment is a key factor here .. and Montenegro is a mountainous country. Not to mention they hardly look Slavic at all and are significiantly taller than other populations.
Also, too cold climate doesn't produce tall people, if anything the opposite would be true. You need a short stocky built in order to conserve heat. On the other hand, in hot environments, you need a tall and slank built to regulate heat better. Eskimoes are best adapted to cold climate, as are Mongolians and Asiatic people in general. Northerners are just depigmented Mediterraneans with a body built which hasnt had enough time to adapt to cold climate.

OK granted. You're not any good at English because you live in Greece. That still doesnt excuse you from being stupid.
Woow ... you trully prove my point.
Firstly, explain "short nation" .. you said it is scientific we're a short nation. Is that based on your personal eye observation? Or do you have statistics?
Secondly, how did you deduce mountains = short people, when reputedly the Montenegrins are the tallest people in the Balkans and perhaps Europe even ... as you might have guessed, Montenegro is a very mountainous area with almost no single valley worthy of mentioning. Also a prime reason for them not having been subjugated by Turks, (the mountains that is .. I feel like I need to spell out everything when "debating" with someone of your calibre) ...

Actually, by adding "unlikely haven" they stress exactly that, "generally Muslims hate Jews, but hey, here's an exception" ... it's unscientific for once. Traditionally, anti-Semitism has had its roots in Europe. When the plague struck Europe during the Middle Age, the Jews were accused of having poisoned the waters. Crusaders massacred them en masse on their way to the Holy Land as they went through Hungary. Then you had the Inquisition in Spain, and the result was a flood of Jewish immigrants who settled in the Ottoman empire.
The modern conflict and consequent hatred between Muslims and Jews dates from 1948, with the creation of the Israeli state. It has its prime reason in the creation of a Jewish state in what is perceived by both as holy land, the occupation of Palesint and the opression of the Palestinian people. I am not trying to make a speech against Israel, I'm just saying its a little preposterous depicting this Muslim-Jewish hostility as smth of deep historical roots, when clearly it is the result of 20th century Western politics of dumping a problem of their own on the Middle East by giving away land which wasn't theirs ... when they couldve given away their own land. But its always easier trading with others' belongings. Now it's too late and I wouldnt want Israel to dissappear, but as I said, it's preposterous and documentaries like these make me more angry at times than impressed.

Was anyone speaking of Karpathos? Or do you have this compulsory need to leave a useless mark in every Albanian thread? I made a scientific coment by saying you cannot be from a region with valleys since you're a short nation... and you attacked me .. porca mizeria! What society we live in... ;D I didn't attack you. I stated facts. Kolonia said that some Greeks here need to improve their English skills and make themselves understood, as your jibberish is incoherent at times. As he said this and I read it, my thoughts went to you. And I consequently agreed with his assessment.,

Beautiful, but I am annoyed at one thing which western documentaries like these seem to focuse on, namely the emphasis on Islam. Firstly the institution of besa is unrelated to Islam and what drove these people to save Jewish refugees from Nazis wasn't related to Islamic teachings. Secondly, I don't understand when they say "Albania was an unlikely haven ... because of Islam" -- how so? Why, as a predominantly Muslim country, was it more unlikely than a predominantly Christian country. The chief persecutors of Jews have always been Christians, and although hatred for the Jews preceed the Palestine conflict, it is still from 1948 and on that the modern Muslim-Jewish conflict as we know it, started.

Kjo levizje ka pasur efekt te menjehershem ne jeten e dhjetera mijera personave. Dicka e tille eshte e paprecedente, mendoj. Puna e Anton Cettes eshte madhore per shume shkaqe, dhe dua t'i vecoj dy shkaqe; shpetimi i mijera njerezve, dhe se dyti, ishte nje hap drejt eliminimit te gjakmarrjes si fenomen; ky faktor eshte nder faktoret me destruktiv te imazhit tone ne Evrope, dhe vet jemi fajtor per kete, prandaj duhet eliminuar pergjithmone sa me shpejt.
