There are too many definitions. I never said I was right or wrong, but I tend to understand the fact that I would be second gen and so would you. Makes more sense.

I used to think I was first gen, but how can I be when there were others here before me, even if they were not born here... get it??? :-)

^^^joj which country you talking about lol? The way I see it I am not first gen, I am second gen even though my parents and grandparents were born overseas...i.e it technically makes them first gen Australian residents and citizens (which they are).

I guess people failed to read my thread topic. It was not meant to be like the other one. My point was more pointing to the people here who are first gen dijaspora constantly making fun of second gen dijaspora. Not people back hom making fun of us.

Some comments here are just judgements. I know plenty of first gen and even second gen like me that are living in the Balkans and gave it a go and it's working for them. So you can't judge that they know less or more than anyone else. We all have ties to the place no matter how big or small it is.

Well I don't know why either, but they do. I just think we should all learn together, debate together but at the end of the day understand and respect eachother. No one is better than anyone. We are all here for a reason.

That is a pointless argument and not founded Ichbin. How can someone know more than you about something when you have been educated in a non biased and self learning environment??? My main point here is THEY are talking about the dijaspora in a bad light and trying to detach from it pretending they are still 5 years old back home ( compared to us second gen), when they themselves are the bloody dijaspora also. Get it?

is in the "dijaspora". So why do I see some guys here who have left their homelands be it when they were 5, 10 or 15, basically crap on the second gen dijaspora? I know it's hard to accept, but you are the first gen dijaspora, so live with it. It doesn't make you better or worse than anyone else. We can share our stories, make things better; rather than crap on one another when you have a bad day.
Your thoughts? :-)

No one's asking for sympathy. I was just thinking about kids and who else had them. I didn't do this deliberatly. Same thing happened to my baka Shonic, she never knew her mother also...so sad. Sorry to hear that.
