Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, described the relation with Greece as "excellent" on Monday, after a meeting with his Greek counterpart, Kostas Karamanlis, in Tirana. The two leaders met to sign an agreement which delineates the continental shelf border in the Ionian Sea between Greece and Albania. "Athens will back Albania’s EU integration perspective," said Karamanlis in a joint press conference with Berisha. Karamanlis’ visit follows last week's sentencing of an ethnically Greek mayor in Albania'a Southern town of Himara, to a six month prison sentence for destroying road signs because they were not posted in Greek language. "I assured PM Karamanlis that the Albanian government will do its utmost to back the Greek minority that exists in the country," said Berisha. Albania recently became a member of NATO, and is expected to file for EU candidacy status on Tuesday, a move to which Greek support would be critical in overcoming skepticism some EU capitals hold against further expansion. balkaninsight.com/en/main/news/18468/

Oh.... poor Neolaia Vorioepirotes.... poor poor poor... We all know that European Unions dik is too far up fat man Karamanlis' ass for him to really do anything.
Anyway, personally, I would have wished for Greece to go all negative, it would have brought a new wave of grekophibia that the country much needs. Its been over a year since a flag was burned...

Fuk off you Christian trash. The day Greece and Albania are 'cousin' countries is the day Albania loses any sense of self-respect. After all the crap southern Albanians had to suffer from those bastards, think we can just forget. You Kosovars would never call Serbs 'cousins' would you?
As for you Basil, we are already in NATO and Bollano was arrested. Btw, Greece had the support of the chief EU states in vetoing FYROM.

After all the crap southern Albanians had to suffer from those bastards, think we can just forget. You Kosovars would never call Serbs 'cousins' would you? Better with Greece than with those Turkish bastards who destroyed our nation for over 500 years. Also don't include Serbs in this topic, they came to the Balkans 6th century on, while we and the Greeks were here for thousands of years. Lastly, you have no clue what you're saying, so I'm wasting my time replying to you.

You dumbass, I'm not BS-in anyone, yes I still believe that islam is a wrong religion for Europeans, and if you're not European move to the middle east, that goes to Bosnians as well as Albanians. But at the same time I'm not christian, I'm not even a believer in god. (there are far better things to do then waste time doing religious activities and spend energy for something that was written 2000 years ago)

Btw, Greece had the support of the chief EU states in vetoing FYROM. When we supported Serbia when she was attacked by the barbarian West, we didn't have the support of nobody...and bravo to us.

Im not European, Dardan, Im Albanian and I have the right to be where I belong. Where my ancestors have been for generations. Your right, I dont belong in Europe and Im happy about that. I have plans to return to Albania again one day, and Im willing to bet Ill feel more confortable in Tirana than you ever will...
Wtf, are you that fukin pathetic that you need to define with this European concept? Can you be Albanian if it doesnt involve this Europe? If not then consider speaking Slavic and sign up as the Croatian minority cuz few in Kosova and Albania actually back the total BS you spew.
I have no problem with Christian Albos, none. I do have a problem with trash like Ilir who place their own religious concerns over the general dignity of the Alb people. Who, through their comments, openly and willingly alienate an entire portion of Albanian society. Who live by vague historical contexts.
In fact, Ill say that I like Orthodox Christian Albs, but abhor the Catholic ones. And speak to half of Shkoder and youll get the same statement. They are a backwards and hateful group.

Meltown all nations who live in Europe are Europeans, now you dont confuse terminology between "Continent" (European) and "Ethnicity" (Albanian). We are Europans because we lived in this Continent long before other nations of Europe. And terminology of Europe started from South Europe when civilization created there, now you want to give this terminology "West Europeans" which they dont have nothing about this term. Ok, if you agree we can call our Continent...Illyrope

Ballist...some things should be clarified...because i beleive no one should die an idiot....look up a map....Albania is located in Europe not in Asia Minor. its just simpel geography. and 2) i would go a bit farther then IlirDardani's theory, and say the 2 countries are probebly closer then cousins ...... because we are cousins with all the Balkan people...even Serbs.

Ok, if you agree we can call our Continent...Illyrope Prijes, Im not arguing that Albania is not geographically in Europe, however, I dont consider myself mentally or culturally European. I mean. Why should Albanians? What did Europe say about Albs in 1878? 'Albania is a geographic name'! What about how they handed over Kosova to the Serbs in 1912, regardless of how it was 70% Alb. How about how they stood by and allowed Srebrenica to occur or how, had it not been for America, they would have stood by and allowed Albs to be massacred as well. Who calls themselves Europeans? Germans... Holocaust! French...Algeria! Serbs and Greeks... Srebrenica and all the other crimes! English... India... to begin with just that! I mean the list goes on and on. Whats worse, we Albs, among other Balkan Muslims have suffered because of them. They claim 'secularism' yet all they really think about is Christianity, Christianity! Thats their only concern... Is this the Europe we are a part of? Im not interesting in history or overly old tales that rely only on. Im Albanian, not this pelasgo-illyrian BS. Im just Albanian and dont need stories or history to make me feel happy about my identity.

Lebanese people have all those things as well, so do Armenians, Azeri's etc. etc. Are they are cousins as well? Seems rather artificial to say "we are similar because we eat the same stuff..." Plus, I am gald Im not in your family. Have your cousins slaughtered and repressed your closer relatives? Or kicked them out of their own homes? Hmm... some cousins you have.
