Why is it for turks important to be white? I think the original turks were not white... today majority of turks are descendant of the autochtonous anatolians (not greeks since greeks were colonizers in anatolia not native and they were only a minority on the coastal region)... i consider turks to be caucasian if they are not extremely turanid (mongoloid/caucasoid hybrid race)... but majority of them dont look european... they are swarthier than your average european... most turks have black hair and brown eyes and a slight tan in the face... i was often mistaken for turk even by turks themselfes...

King, because Turks are white. It's not an obsession or anything, it's a fact. The photos that u put up are the same as in the Turkish forum and was discovered they were Kurds photos.
The Europeans make lies that Turks are descended from Greeks b/c they want to still claim Turkish land.
Turks don't look like them so their theories that original Turks looked different doesn't hold.
And now they're finding mummies in Central Asia of Turkic descent who are blonde haired and blue eyed. Which goes to prove even more that Turks are Turanoid race - Turks, Azeris, Gagaoguz Turks, and Tatars are causacian looking. The only really asian looking Turks are the Kazaks, and they are not of the Oguz Turkish tribe. They have their own Kazak tribe.

I didnt say turks are descendant from greeks... are you sure the photos are from kurds? they are from random people in istanbul, are they really all kurds?

Sorry Ethnic Turks are not "white." You can thank the Balkans for any whiteness you might have. With that said, why are you so hard pressed to prove yourself as "white?" You're Turks, you ruled the white folks for over 500 years, and now you're trying to prove your "whiteness" to us?  |

How are the people not white? They are white skinned. I still don't get how Europeans think they're white, when they're plenty of white people like Turks, and some Arabs even. Greeks and Italians are darker than Turks too. Azeri Turks and the Oguz Turks are all white...Everything isn't from the Balkans dude!

They probably have roots in the Caucus. Isn't that what Turkey is all about? Mixing of different groups can speak Turkish. If I went tomorrow Turkey and learned Turkish, I would probably integrate into Turkey quite well. And since I'm white, I'd probably be considered some Illyrian God. |

I'm talking about Central Asia too. Turks from Turkey do not have roots from Caucus.
And don't forget Chavush and Tatars - they don't have roots in the Caucus - they are from Central Asia.

why do you think u would be considered a God? People are not discriminatory to people b/c of their skin color in Turkey.

thracian: i worked with a turkish guy, he was compeletely white i didnt know he was a turk until i read his name and they told me... but his father looked "turkish" (swarthy and hairy).... i had also turkish neighbours, they differend in their phenotype one son was even dirty blonde but had mongoloid influence in his skull and face but the oldest son looked "turkish" (swarthy/black eyed/black haired) and the father looked turkish he was hairy and swarthy.... so i guess even if some turks look white they have family who doesnt look white, so turks are a mixture not pure white.... but i have to admitt from all non-european peoples turks are the closest to white... they are not that dark like indians, pakis or gypsies
