UN passes resolution on Gaza Friday, January 09, 2009
The resolution "stresses the urgency of and calls for an immediate, durable and fully respected ceasefire leading to the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza".
The resolution passed with 14 votes in favour and only the US abstaining. Drafted by the US, UK and France in consultation with Arab leaders, it urges a full withdrawal of Israeli forces, but does not give a timeframe. Ban Ki-moon, the UN secretary-general, said he was "heartened and relieved" by the passing of the resolution. The move comes as the Israeli offensive in Gaza enters it 14th day and follows days of diplomatic activity at the UN over the crisis.
The UN chief, who will visit the Middle East next week for talks on the crisis, said the UN "stands ready" and that a ceasefire would be a "first step", but that "a political way forward is required to deliver long-term security and peace".
The resolution is only a partial victory for Arab leaders, who succeeded in pushing through a resolution when the US and other nations were keener on issuing a non-binding "presidential statement".
The resolution is legally binding but it does not have any enforcement mechanism, and Israel has ignored dozens of UN resolutions over the years.

The 4th front is opened:
Jan 11, 2009 The resistance against Zionist occupation appeared to reach the Golan Heights on Sunday when gunshots were fired at an IDF vehicle inside Syria. It was the second attack along Israel's northern front since "Operation Cast lead began" in late December.
The IDF said the vehicle was carrying "civilians and soldiers who were conducitng engineering work" inside the occupied territories. No one was hurt, though the vehicle sustained some damage and military sources said it was likely a lone Syrian gunman who decided to open fire at the force to protest the IDF operation.
Shortly after the incident, Israel filed a complaint with UNDOF, the United Nations observer force based in the Golan Heights.
Last Thursday, two people in a retirement home were lightly wounded when four Katyusha rockets slammed into the northern city of Nahariya.

Israel has handled full on war against three nations simultaneously, and crushed them entirely. It can exterminate these Arab rats without much effort, all it needs to do is unleash itself completely on them without any restraint and it would be over in days. These attacks by the Arabs are pathetic, but the retaliation will be beautiful! Anyone wanna start betting? We can start at 100 more dead with the next few days.

Anyone wanna start betting? So you think the Zionist army will actually win this war because they won a six day long "war" in 1967?? This war has so far lasted twice as long and there is nothing indicating a Zionist victory yet. In fact the resistance seems to be spreading and opening new fronts. The 1967 "victory" is totally irrelevant in this war.

Thats because Israel is holding back due to a p**y world that see a brutalized people instead of a nation defending itself. Its because the pressure from a worthless UN which should have been disbanded long ago... And how many casualties has Israel sustained so far? If Israel sent in its full army it would be over in days, Gaza and West Bank would cease to be Arab and would be ready for settlement by people who could actually do something with it... Just to show how much of a joke the rest of the Arab world is compared to Israel: Boycott Israel movement: photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v1927/89/104/717393942/n717393942_1885816_4916.jpglol... How many of you here have used one of these products recently? As in a few hours ago... There, you just supported Israel a little more.

there is no Zionist army, its the IDF which was created to defend the Jewish nation from its aggressive neighbors. And I think Israel is making a mistake in holding itself back. Israel has the nukes in the end, so it doesnt matter what this momentary result will be, it will mean more Israeli settlements in the west bank and Gaza, more no-man's lands, and more losses of land for the Palestinians.

Since you obviously have doubts about the Zionist army wining this war I suggest that you don’t bet your money yet.

800 Palestinians are dead so far, I have plenty of reason for betting on more of their lives "failing" in the next few days. ;D Im not betting on the strategic conclusion of these campaigns am I? Are you playing the fool or is it that you are just too stupid to understand?

800 Palestinians are dead so far, I have plenty of reason for betting on more of their lives "failing" in the next few days. But that is not what this topic is about. I’m asking a simple question: Who do you think will win this war? If you think that the Zionists army will win then say so. If not then admit that you also think that the Palestinian resistance has a better chance of winning. It cant be that hard to understand, not even for you.

You're pretty twisted Ballisti...its possible to be pro-Israel without rejoicing over the deaths of Palestinians you know.
If Israel sent in its full army it would be over in days, Gaza and West Bank would cease to be Arab and would be ready for settlement by people who could actually do something with it..
Have you ever been to this site "stormfront"? The members there use a rhetoric identical to yours when it comes to Albanians in Kosovo...They view Serbs and Albanians in pretty much the exact same light as you do Arabs and Israelis... just exchange the words Israel with Serbia, Gaza with Kosovo and Arab with Albanian and this could be a quote from that very forum.
