Hey Ljubotan is it true the Serbs in Kumanovo are asking for Serbian to be an official language? Maybe an official language in the region or something to that effect......
Do the Slavs in Kumanovo consider themselves different? Meaning do they feel more attached to Serbia than being "Macedonian?"
Sorry to derail ur thread btw......

All Slavs from Kumanovo if not self declared Serbs are for the 'most part' pro Serbian. The old man in the documentary video stated in the 20's there were 120,000 people registered in Kumanovo with 92,000 declaring Serb ethnicity.
An official copy of a memo was sent to me a couple weeks ago stating that specific region in MK will be opening up schools in Serbian, and it further went on to say they believe the census is way understated for Serbs.
By guess is they are slowly bringing back Serbian awarness into Macedonia, and I would bet the census will increase a bit by 2012 and double by 2022.

I know that there are definitely a lot of people who identify as Serbs in Kumanovo. However I don't think that they get along well with the slavo-makedonijans. I saw this video a long time ago where they are saying get fucked to Serbs...

Arsenije this video is a classic. A greek new-world-order servant (and gay) had posted this video to me to prove the dislike of Makedonians against Serbs. I guess in Greece things are much worse between PAOK-OSFP or even between Zvijezda and Partizan.

Pyross, I think the low point in Serb-FYROM relations has passed a while ago. Serbs are holidaying in Ohrid like never before and they are playing Serbian music like never before. Recently I think the city of Beograd made some donation to a Tose memorial.

^^ Serbs=Makedonians=Bulgarians, so i doubt this will ever happen. No I don't think they are. I believe each group sees themselves differently, and would rather live with their respective state than live together in some superficial harmonic state. Meaning, the Serbs would rather join Serbia, Bulgarians join Bulgaria and the self-identify Macedonians would like to maintain the status-quo I guess.

As my last trip to Bulgaria proved, the differences between the balkan slavs are negligible. Albos are trapped inside a slavic sea.

For sure. I just had a few relatives come from Ohrid and they told me that they were treated very well people would react positvely when they learned they were from Serbia.

Ohrid, Belgrade and Novi Sad, it is barely Balkan. People have different mentality and values and you can actually survive working for normal wage(and not bare minimum like in other cities).

Albs only have issues with the Serbs, Montenegrins and FYROM Slavs. Albs have decent to ok relations with Croats, Bosniaks, Bulgarians, Muslim Slavs and so forth.

In a few decades almost all Muslim Slavs in and around Albania will be speaking Albanian. I even ran into a few Muslim Slav facebook groups in places around Novi Pazar and Sanjak focused on re-asserting their old Albanian identity: www.facebook.com/index.php?lh=e57018d7283e3c6d8414ee4cd30681fd!/pages/Sandzak-kroz-vene-nam-tece-albanski-krv/263718253115 It will begin with the Muslim Slavs of Macedonia and then ...

The Torbesh in Macedonia are usually on the fence with their identity. They will claim their Albanian one day, Turkish the next and Macedonian the other day. They don't have a stable identity as long as they hold on to that disgusting Slavic language. Once they purify themselves of that filthy barbaric tongue then I can see more assimilations taking place. Some of the Torbesh have complained that Albanians are forcing them to identify themselves as Albanian. Personally I don't think this is much of the case. Many of them intermarry with Albanians, feel closer to Albanian in Macedonia (due to a common religion) and many speak Albanian (even if it is basic.)
Now all that needs to happen is the re-assimilating of the Orthodox Albanians in Macedonia. Probably a much harder task since their numbers are smaller but more needs to be done on that issue.
