Chento calm down and dont claim Macedonia as your own. That is the biggest problem of you and your countrymen. You think that Macedonia is yours and only yours. You said that Albanians failed in 2001 but the truth is that the war of 2001, which i must admit, it was a war to separate Macedonia and here you can see that Albanians had no interest in religion. Now you blame Albanians for terrorists. Thats a low hit and a cheap propaganda.

Macedonia and 'ethnic Macedonians' only exist today because of the lack of a strong local power. Forget about even any Balkan country having power, if only Austria, Italy, or Turkey had the power they used to then Macos and their country wouldn't exist today.

I don't know how many times we will say and we will saying : That your Country it's not "MACEDONIA" it's " FYROV " ( FORMER YUGOSLAV REPUBLIC OF VARDARSKA/SKOPJE) .
So don't be ridiculous with your fanatic things.
Give me just one single proof that Alexander the Great spoked "Macedonian"...

Russia had the power during the Soviet Union. We made it through that era. As a matter of fact Albania was its closest ally in the region until Krushchev took over. I believe Titostan was just created to weaken Bulgaria. I don't think I agree with plis' post. I don't see the relevance.

I don't see the relevance. it's debatable whether the USSR was a Russian empire. it was a communist creature that didn't serve russian orthodox interests. in any case, albania survived, but without kosovo. kosovo was firmly in the hands of the serbs. sfrj was a buffer state between nato and the warsar pact countries.

the name Bitola is derived from the old Slavic word Obitel (monastery or abode), since the city was formerly noted for its monastery. When the meaning of the name was no longer understood, it lost its prefix "o".[4] The name Bitola is mentioned in the Bitola inscription, related to the old city fortress built in 1015. Modern Slavic variants include the Macedonian Bitola (Битола), the Serbian Bitolj (Битољ) and Bulgarian Bitolya (Битоля). In Byzantine times, the name was hellenized to Voutélion (Βουτέλιον) or Vitólia (Βιτώλια), hence the names Butella by William of Tyre, Butili by the Arab geographer al-Idrisi. The Aromanian name Bituli is also derived from the Slavic name.
Another Greek name under which the city used to be best-known and which is still in use, is Monastíri (Μοναστήρι), also meaning "monastery". The Turkish name Manastır (Ottoman Turkish: مناستر) is derived from the Greek name, as is the Albanian Manastiri.
