By accepting Alexanders true legacy...That was to spread the Hellenic way of life and culture to the then known world...To reject it is to reject the man him self and his legacy all together... Oh and I should mention, I do acknowledge that Alexander spread Hellenic culture to the known world. Does this now make me a Hellene?

you have to understand that Hellenism (dead and gone at 727 AD RIP) was SEVERELY beaten by the roman-christian Byzantium. The fact that later the Greek language became the official language of the Byzantine empire, was not enough to lift the spirit of the Greeks who lived like slaves, and being ruled by Slavs (as the vast sea of slavic toponyms in Greece can easily show). Byzantium was a partial success due to the Russians/Bulgarians/Serbs/Slavs/Armenians working for this empire. I thought the Byzantine culture was a mix of Hellenic and Roman? If you say that the Hellenic culture died with the introduction of Byzantium, then the claim of some people of today is even more far fetched.

Without Hellenism within Macedonia there is no Macedonia but an empty shell / nothing. Then the same has to be said about Greece. And like I have been arguing, there is no longer Hellenism. If there was, Greece wouldn't be what it is today. Just my opinion.

Show me where i made this claim as you stated... You didn't directly, which is why I put a comma after mentioning your post. The conversation took off from there.

Did Greeks of 2nd century AD maintained the Hellenic culture in their times? They were not leading the world then... The Hellenic culture evolved into Byzantium, which was a success. But it still doesn't excuse the Greeks of today. You are not in any wars. You don't have the Ottomans or Communism. What's the problem? Why was your Hellenic culture so dominant back then, and yet so useless now? Explain.

The problem is your language that makes it hard for us to accept you as Macedonians, nothing more. ........ We cannot understand how a slavic speaking country claims the Greek name of Macedonia. Im still trying to come to terms with it. That makes sense and I can see how that is a barrier. My point to this discussion though is a response to what Arhilleas originally wrote, and about how Greeks have allegedly maintained this ancient Hellenic culture even today. We all know that's not true, if it was, Greece would be leading the world in everything.

What the hell are you talking about Kastorianos! The modern Germans are a success story. They are leaders, innovators, hard workers. Their culture has more in common with ancient Hellenes than the modern Greek culture does. It wasn't always that way of course. Germans were once barbarians (look it up, it's a Greek term) but their culture evolved into what it is today.
The Hellenic culture however devolved into the laziness and corruption of today's of Greeks. Your culture is missing the vital ingredient that made your ancestors so successful. Which makes a mockery of your claim that you have continued their ways of life because if you had, then you would be on equal terms with the Germans.

That's my point Pyrros. I don't deny a genetic link between people of today, and people of 2000 years ago. But it's not genes which determine the superiority of a peoples, it's their mentality, their frame of mind. Whatever it was that made the Hellenes so great, modern Greeks don't have it. They passed on that culture of success to the Romans, who in turn passed it to the English, etc.
Culture evolves but sometimes it devolves.

Why don't you acknowledge the great big elephant in the room i just brought up Kastorianos? If modern Greeks have continued the great Hellenic culture of 2000+ years ago, then why are you such losers today? You can't blame the Ottomans anymore, you have had 200 years of independence and western money, so why aren't you leaders in anything? Where's the innovation, the progress, etc? Why is your country broke? Why are Greeks so lazy and corrupt?
Is this really the great Hellenic culture which once conquered the known world? Please answer that.

By accepting Alexanders true legacy...That was to spread the Hellenic way of life and culture to the then known world...To reject it is to reject the man him self and his legacy all together... The Hellenic culture and way of life in Alexanders time has nothing to do with the culture of modern Greeks or FY Macedonians. If Greeks had the mentality of ancient Hellenes, they would be leading the world right now, not be seen as the joke of Europe.

Germans. If you're going to believe them on this Balkan issue, then you're going to have to accept many of their claims that "ancient Greeks" were blonde, blue eyed Germanic people, and the current Greeks are simply mud immigrants from the middle east.

The only solution i see for both sides to benefit, is if this country Hellenize's it's self. . How does one "Hellenize" ones self?

The one in red is Doutzen Kroes, or something. The one in yellow in Miranda Kerr, an Australian that's half Serb half Turkish I think.
