He copied byzantine architecture and adopted it for the muslim world. Most people today think thats turkish architecture although its Greek-Roman. He was the turkish invader in the field of architecture.

The albanian buttface wants to tell us what Greek immigrants were like...I think he is confusing us with the albanians once more.

I guess the Isocrates definition was for ancient Greece or for his time at least.Today, with nation states, talk of ethnic ancestry, jus sanguinis, ethnic associations etc,a Hellene,a Greek,is someone with Ethnic Greek ancestry and someone who is a citizen of Greece regardless of race, religion and ethnicity. But of course,"they" treasure the former. This is Greece! With its big culture, history, contributions and fame,of course there is a lot of "Wow" stuff they take pride in and then comes the immigrants, particularly the non-European ones, who in the eyes of most people European descent and even the coloured ones, see as low class, not cool, coming to "cheapen" Greece by mixing and attaching themselves to Greece and Greekness. So they're saying, love yourself, dont give IT up. Their self-esteem,their mojo is being destroyed. Of course...I dont want them to soil our identity. The same way I will never dare to soil theirs. Everyone shall keep to himself...without feeling hate for each other of course. I just dont want my ethnicity, my nation to be attached to totally alien elements. "Greek" is no cosmopolitan identity, its not like "American" or "French" which can be at least both black and white...Greek is a much more confined identity. This makes us small but also very vulnerable. I want to keep the Greek identity as it is now alive. This is why Im against the mass naturalizations...

+ a Greek last name and of course being baptized orthodox. And generally a "Greek past". What shall this kid tell us what his ancestors did when the Greek army freed Thessaloniki? Hunting antelopes in Kenia? No...such things are not possible.

You can become a Greek citizen but you can not become Greek without being born to Greek parents. Now look at this little black kid. I dont have a problem with it being a negro at all. But hell this kid will always be the "Afrikanos" later on...no matter how good it will speak Greek. You must have several generations of Greek ancestors which were living in Greece in order to can call yourself Greek.

The Greek politicians have neither enslaved us nor have they massacred millions of Greeks throughout history. They havent occupied Cyprus, they did not start the Macedonia name issue by purposefully splitting up Yugoslavia with the aim to control the Balkans. What we can blame our politicians for is that they did never act and react adequately when the above events took place. Thats another story...the greatest enemy is and will be the USA, then Turkey, then the UK.

Personally I would clearly fight the USA, Turkey and the UK for the two rocky islands. These are the three countries I call the main enemies of my country, thus also mine. I feel nothing but abhorrence for them.

I would never fight for Germany. I love it but thats not the place of my ancestors. My ancestors fought for another country and people. The place I belong to is Greece and no other country. Also I would never give up my Greek citizenship.
Its ironic that the Indians with Greek passport will be able to vote while I can not just because Im living in Germany. I wonder what these politicians are doing...how shall I ever develop a desire to "return" to Greece if this country does not give me the feeling of being a part of Greek society and the possibility to participate in its affairs? Being Greek should be more than just having to go to the prokseneio every fours years in order to renew your passport...

Kastor, Rhezus is the Pomak (Bulgarian muslim) version of Pyrro. I hope you get what I mean. Rhezus is a hateful creature, believing in fairy tales of Thracian continuity of the Bulgarian state, as well as the one of Turkey, a person who thinks that fyromians are separetae identity and Turks (Ottomans, Seljuks, etc) are Thracians. Please, don't be harsh to confused persons. And Rhezus, you fvcking wanker, do not present your perverted view as that of Bulgarians as a whole. I see...now a lot of things become clear...I could never range that person. He did never say where he comes from. So he is a Pomak. In Greece Pomaks have a good reputation actually atm since we are about to strengthen them in forming an own strong identity in order to have an antipole to the ascending turkish feeling people. Most Pomaks dont like Turks. Rhezus is an exception. But anyway this person seems to have some serious mental problems. The great mistake the Greek state was to teach at school only turkish to the minority people and not the Pomak dialect.. This happened because of the cold war. We were more afraid of the Bulgarians than the Turks at this time. But now we have a lot of people with pomak origin who feel completey Turkish....the Greek state did turkify them unintenionally...pretty ironic and annoying...

Here again, revealing all your false perception. As a Bulgarian, you don't need to explain to me how things are between Bulgaria and Greece - solve your own problems and shut up! you are a pitiful creature...cure your mental damage.

As a Greek I tell you Greece is not your enemy....Greece and Bulgaria had had many wars in past but we dont feel hate for each other. Of course there are few exceptions like you but personally I dont have a problem with Bulgarians at all.

Just look how the turks of Bulgaria are influencing the policy of your country by now...they have a strong party and I have the feeling they are not very friendly towards the Bulgarian state and feel much closer to the turkish neighbour. We do not want the Turks to do the same in our country. Once recognized they will form an extended arm of Turkey and one day they will be able to determine our domestic policies. Turkey is playing dirty games....Bulgaria should be careful.

Listen piece of dirt, what does your question have to do with our discussion about Byzantium? But to give you an answer...of course there are ethnic Turks in western Thrace. But we do not recognize them for political reasons. Its at that very difficult to differentiate between ethnic turks and ethnic pomaks (probably of bulgarian descent) since the turkish majority does oppress the Pomaks in order to self identify themselves as Turks. We are doing good with not recognizing them. The Turks of Thrace have proven to cause a lot of problems...like appealing for giving their votes to turkish canidates only...threatening the muslim people with violence if someone doesnt. Besides the treaty of Lausanne does not force us to recognize a turkish minority...just ONE muslim one. Why should we go further? Be European and open minded? Such behaviour does only work if you have to do with open minded progressive people...not people like the ones we have. You have to fight fire with fire...the Balkans are not Central Europe.
