Any future prospects of a Balkan Union will be a united Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Bulgaria and Greece (Under Russian Influence that is). Any further than that will result in a war, since shit seems to hit the fan a little too often in our little corner of the world.

I don't think Greece would want any type of "union" with "Macedonia" This would result in a war almost surely so balkan unions are all doomed to fail unless its Romania and Albania (for further info look at my map)

^ Can you provide some solid proof on this, as to how 100% of the people in the Balkans think like you? How can you insure that your argument against my thesis is 100% valid?

How can you prove that I'm wrong? Can you prove that those mentioned countries wants to unite with Serbia? Besides, Montenegro ("you closest ally") have seperated from Serbia, so how come other countries you mentioned wants to unite with Serbia?

You're the one with the argument that it cannot be viewed as assumption. One who does not know, does not speak; but the one who does not speak, knows all. You catch my drift here?

I think that the Croats and Bosniacs, would mostly be against this union. Even the ones who would support a south slavic union, would be against this union, seen as they would get the impression that it is an orthodox union. With Greece and Romania and stuff.....
Wasn't there some plan by Tito or Stalin, or God knows who, to make a balkan super state with Yugoslavia and Bulgaria?

Wasn't there some plan by Tito or Stalin, or God knows who, to make a balkan super state with Yugoslavia and Bulgaria? There was. Thankfully Stalin and Tito argued before that, because probably Bulgaria would be been devided today too (at least Pirin Macedonia). On the other hand it could ve included fyrom today. Anyways I think the 3rd option is the possible one. I dont think Greece, Serbia or even Bulgaria would accept Turkey as part of that union. First, the Ottoman empire, but second and most important: they are 66 millions. Its very easy to see who would dominate that union. It would be the Ottoman empire recriated. If EU could not handle Turkey, will BU handle it? I highly doubt it. Greece, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Bosnia are all relatevily comparable states (as teritorry or people, well except probably Romania) so they would be seeking of compromise between them. I can see Albania joining. I dont know about Bosnia. Would they accept to be part in an union with Serbia? Such a union (3rd variant) would be well ballanced. However in reallity I think: 1. there will not be BU; 2. most states would join in forseen future EU: first Croatia, later FYROM (if it behaves normally towards Greece and Bulgaria), then Montenegro, Albania, Serbia and Bosnia. 3. the states in 3 would eventually arise to the idea that is best to be united in EU and there would be created very close union in the Bolkans. 4. Even withought BU in EU when all states are in Shengen practically the Bolkans would be like one state.

Exactly this was my 1st thought, I doubt this Union would happen in the Balkans. People here already beginning to argue about where is the HQ.

Balkan is pure Albanian word that means grandstand as the same as for Balkon. Balkan=Balkon Balkan is Europe's Platform. Balkan=Forhead.

And I dont think Albania should join if Turkey doesnt... I mean why should we make a union with historical enemies (Serbia, Greece, Montenegro) and yet not make one with a historical ally? It just doesnt make sense.
Here we can already see where the problems of such a union would come... its stupid and pointless.
