Krivo, when is killing justified? If you think at all that it is.

The guy who beat her.

The bread was probably symbolic for something. The video in Crete was even worse. So very Greek to literally stab someone in the back, at least the Montenegrin guy killed her in front of her face. Anyway honor killings are dumb, that's why we have these things called laws now.

she cheated on her husband ... she was a kurva, she was treated as one. But why all this thing with the bread? I think the guy who sleept with her should have been killed too. That's what I am saying. Kill the guy too. But from what I understood from the video, it was one way. Was it consensual?

When she placed the bread on her head, she said basically "take as offering this bread of my disgrace" Meaning I think he's supposed to eat the bread after the deed is done. Still happens around the world though, in Iraq and Afganistan stonings and stuff of disgraceful women happen often. Just about 6 or 7 years ago a relative of mine (Vasojevici from Berane) went to jail for a revenge killing.

Revenge killing is most common amongst Albanians and Montenegrins.

Krivos,
I was never aware of this type of "honor" killing amongst Montes.
Where did the idea of this method come from?
Was it a previous King or leader?

there's an unwritten code called "Cojstvo i Junastvo", and didn't come from any king or ruler...in fact it was always the rulers who wanted to destroy it or at least control it. It came from the people, the tribes

Was this girl raped? OR did she cheat on her husband willingly?

it's assumed willingly, rape in traditional montenegro is an unknown concept (wives generally are kidnapped from other villages, by tradition).
So once a woman enters your household, in order to keep your household pure, and by that your honor intact, you must exorcize the household of disgrace, in this case the woman.
The man who had an affair with her is not of his concern, being outside of the household he does not bring dishonor to his household.

I don't agree at all with this concept of "honour".
If she was raped, it is up the husband to avenge her. This is the honour I know of. It is the husband's responsibility to protect his household and everything in it and a part of it. Not kill her, for being a victim.

Anyway honor killings are dumb, that's why we have these things called laws now. Laws do not stop people from doing what they really want to do. Of course they don't, but what they do is provide regulations, so if the law was forced in Montenegro and Crete they won't kill these women for cheating on their husbands.

Like I said, conventional rape is unheard of in traditional montenegro. A man would instead kidnap her and marry her if he wanted to pursue sexual relations. He would not kidnap a married woman because that brings an entire tribe upon him in vengeance, and can make it an inter-tribal war.
Instead, they knew each other from before, and it's that simple.

This doesn't happen in Albania by the way, maybe in the north it does though.
