For those of you who dont know the background, here in Sweden there is an artist called Lars Vilks who became famous for drawing a caricature of Muhammed the prophet as a roundabout dog. After this, he received death threats and a price on his head ($150,000) ... he has been living under threat since then (including by Jihad Jane who tried to recruit terrorists to kill Vilks).
This guy continues however ... the videos below are the result of his lecture in Uppsala University (on free speech), where he showed a video of naked individuals in sexual positions with masks depicting Mohammed.
A hero and representative of free speech or a guy pushing it for fame?

I believe he should be able to say what he likes. Of course his ideas are controversial and insulting but he has the right to say it. What boggles my mind is why ordinary Muslims don't organize and go through the proper legal channels to stop him? Instead the extremist get in the way with their midevil mentality where they think cutting his head will stop the issue. Ok maybe cutting his head will shut him up lol, but this fear they are trying to spread is ridiculous. Dumbasses. What I find even more hypocritical is when these extremists are silent when another prophet is defamed. They go apeshit about Mohammed, but when Jesus is shown they're as calm as a Buddhist cow.

I dont know if youre a South Park fan, but watch episode 200 and 201 season 14; tvshack.net/tv/South_Park/It relates to what you speak of ... it was even censored ;D But yeh, I agree with you Logjiktek. I have no sympathy for Lars Vilks, he is an A*****e and an attention w**re. But the principle of free speech still stands. He should be able to ridicule a major world religion ... without his life being endangered.

There is no need to kill him... just to live with the idea that a mujahedin is always next to him ready to blow both of them out would be a ...good reward for his little-fame he gained...

He may have been shortsighted, however it is his right to be in a free society. Muslims POSes need to learn that they no longer live in their backwards societies where you can get prosecuted for showing your leg. They need to be educated and realize that to the rest of the world, their prophet can easily just be a trashbag camel-jockey. Enough of this chit, South park and western media satyize Jesus every fuking day. I wish Enver Hoxha could be made eternal and he could just travel the world of the middle east, establishing short term dictatorship of the post 67 style to teach these a-holes right.

I find the western islamophobia ridiculous.
Even if I don't feel any sympathy to Islam(Turks helped that way a lot) i wouldn't offend a muslim that way, or in ways that muslims find offending even if for a westerner are logical, e.g. the simple depiction of Mehmet...
I find these people specifically(Danes, Dutch etc) very narrow minded even if superficialy are very liberal.

I feel so bad for the Swedes that have to put up with these subhumans. We might be witnessing the last breath of the Western civilization.

Shejtani, how close are you to Bruges? Beautiful city. As a matter of fact thats what's stuck in my mind from Belgium. Patrine, if religions feel they have this authority to judge the world in every possible way then why should one individual's judgement of a religion be regarded as offensive?

Ok ex and non ex Mehmets... post things that would portray your regret for you islamic past(and future...)....lol
You must respect others believes even if you don't agree with them at all. And the guy is just using the western european islamophobia that prevails in their movies, news, newspapers etc to provoke and gain some publicity.
Lets say that one caricaturist depicted the albanian flamuri and a Serb coming on it...what would you think... that its his right to do it, and its simple satire...?
PS. Guys post your anti muslim messages in non balkan forums...here we know who you are and you don't need to tire your fingers typing fake bs...

HaaHaaHaa. WTF is "coming". Anyway, freedom of speech is freedom of speech, however what this swede has done is very provocative. However, I do not think that by hiring people to kill him and putting money on his head is the correct thing to do. Patrinos, please fuck off if you cannot debate properly. You are pathetic turning this thread into something that makes no fucking sense at all. You do know people are different. For example, you are a retard, someone else is intelligent, some are hardcore Muslim, some are Muslims but they know shit all about the religion etc etc

One of the rare times i agree with you on this Meltdown. I was talking to my bro the other day, he told me south park pulled the muhammed character out of their series. That is BS IMO, if Jesus can get mocked than so should Mohammed. My only gripe is that christians do not hold their religion in high regard where the muslims do. For this I give them credit for standing up in what they believe in. But if they live in a foreign country, they should STFU or get out and make their own country livable for themselves. Props to the italians for fining a muslim woman wearing a burga. The best 500 euros Italy ever received... oh and their building a mosque at ground zero. God i swear amercians are gettng more stupider by the day. No reaction whatsoever from these ppl. I swear american ppl are like sheep...you can pass anything over their heads and they will just sit there wide eyed....

The point is they are immigrants in Sweden and they cannot impose on the host society their belief system. It's that simple. And you are the one being the hypocrite here since Greece is one of the few countires that denies Moslems their rights to practice their religion freely. If there ever was a European people that is islamophobic it is you so enough with your ridiculous lectures.

We have problem with Turks and their osman by-products in Balkans... not with the whole muslim world. Instead i see an educated Persian, Egyptian, Lebanese much more debatable from an Dutch puritan protestant. At least they feel proud of their islamic past, they don't try to hide it, like some people I know...

You belong in the East and in the Levant not in Western Europe. Lucky for you you occupy the same territory that the Ancient Greeks did so you are ripping the benefits. I am an atheist but proud of my Bektashi heritage and wouldn't change it for the world. However that does not put me in the same category as those who want to impose Sharia law in Western Europe. Far from it. I know you get a kick out of mentioning our Moslem past but most Albanians couldn't care less about religion or what you say, save the Catholics in the North and the Moslems in Central Albania who are deeply religious.

You are an Albo, aren't you Mehmeti? I like how you retort with nonsense when you got nothing to say. Your best comeback is "Remember, you are Albanian" as if it is indicative of anything. How lame can you get really? I gotta to hand it you though as you are a great sh!tstirrer cause you interject yourself in every debate and turn in on its head. No one was talking to you. Until you arrived this was a conversation amongst Albanians so your theory that we are trying to prove anything to outsiders is worthless.

Ok. So you are ok with your past and you don't want to prove to anyone that you belong to the ..West...and islamic strong influence in your people was just an incidental break...
but again, as i've said before, we know you guys... all balkanoids know you...
When as people you gonna feel ok with your past, you'll neither need to lick the asses of the Americans and being proud if one characterizes you as the "most philoamerican nation in the world" nor showing big disrespect to muslims in order to denounce you past... in 3 4 decades you will be more serious people...

We feel fine with our past, but we have learned to live in the 21 century. its you that seems stuck in the past. I support the swedes because I support freedom of speech and denounce the needs for people to bring their culture into other worlds. Albanians dont do such a thing.
We are happy to be philoamerican because the Americans were the only ones to show support in a time of need, we thank them for that. Neither Europe nor Greece have to understand nor respect it, just realize it.
Im an Albanian of bektashi heritage and would not trade it for any orthodogism or pedopapa. Im very happy with the decisions of my ancestors to abandon a pathetic faith (if we ever were orthodogs, we could have easily been catholics) and become a new tolerant and progressive faith (bektashi) in comparison to a defeatist one.
