Wiki is far less biased than the one sided crap that comes from some Serbian institutions. You get multiple points of view, not just one. come on you little naughty liar... Serb nation has been prosecuted systematically in the last 20 years, people look with anger at me, the moment i *dare* speaking about an innocent fact, like the first military aircraft motor in the balkans (Rakovica 1927), or the first brewery in the balkans (apatinska pivara 1789), or the first police force in the balkans (MUP 1802)..... IT IS SIMPLY FORBIDDEN (even in supposed "friendly" countries like Greece) to talk about Serbs. well, the Apatin brewery was founded in 1756 in the Habsburg Empire by Germans. the place was smthing like 99% german until partizans ethnically cleansed them after ww2. Just an innocent fact ;D

there was a movie i watched with jessica lang long time ago. With the SS in hungary. I forgot their name..something arrows i believe. I think the movie was called the ' music box " or something. Anyway...good movie i havent seen this movie, but i think you mean the "Arrow cross Party" (Nyilaskeresztes Párt in Hun). They were the copy of the Nazi Party and came to power in 15 October, 1944 with a German supported coup. They were the worst gov in the whole 20th century Hun history, I couldnt say anything positive about their reign. Hitler at least built some autobahns in Germany lol, but these... nothing productive, only destruction... even our most terrible commie rulers (Kun Bela, Rakosi) were 100 times better than these..

www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1155493.htmlLast update - 13:34 10/03/2010 Holocaust deniers face jail under new Hungarian law By DPA Tags: Israel news, Holocaust denial Denying or playing down the Holocaust in Hungary is to be a criminal offense punishable by up to three years imprisonment after President Laszlo Solyom signed new legislation into law on Wednesday. A spokesman said the president did not consider the legislation to be in contravention of the constitutional right to freedom of speech. The legislation, initiated by the governing Hungarian Socialist Party, was passed by Hungary's parliament on February 22 in the last scheduled legislative session before general elections in April. Advertisement The centre-right opposition party Fidesz abstained from the vote after the Socialists rejected a motion to extend the scope of the law to also cover crimes committed in the name of Communism from 1948 to 1989.

it often happens that the biggest nationalists come from ethnic minority background or at least insecure about their ancestry and then they compensate it this way...

as i see most photos in the video are from Prizren, the Rufai/Rifai sufi order's celebration of Nevruz (spring equinox). where it originated, i heard one explanation is that its root is from the Mongol conquest of todays persia and iraq, rifai sufis tried to amaze the violent mongols this way but i don't know if its true. and what its purpose, i guess showing the power of their practicies/faith and it can be a good tourist attraction also lol

yeni, Was it possible ("geographically") to draw the borders following ethnic lines? well Hitler and Musso could draw it to us lol, so yes it was possible. our ww2 borders (after the two Vienna decisions+ our slice from Yugo) were quite close to the ideal, if i were the "great mapdrawer" back then, i would make some modifications (like Novi Sad should not be returned to Hun) but overall those were the most correct borders we ever had.

Was the territory which Hungary lost, inhabited by ethnic Hungarians? that was the problem (or thats why its still an issue) territories inhabited by ethnic Huns were also lost, it didn't follow ethnic lines.

in short term only occupation im not sure that they themself had long term plans, most likely installing some sort of puppet regime in Serbia. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trianon_Treatyhalf of the ppl hate Habsburgs, other half like them but 1867-1914 was a very positive part of our history. now its another question was it doomed from the first moment or not...

Does Muslim religion/culture support enrichment/making profit? I guess - it doesn't? interesting i had opposite impression, that being involved in business is a positive, favoured thing, esp. small businesses are very popular and the Quran itself encourages fair trade + many early muslims incl the Prophet himself were merchants.

well Franz Ferdinand and the Hungarians didnt really like each other. after the assassination of the archduke the Hun primeminister opposed the attack on Serbia, mostly because didn't want more south slavs in the country, only gave support after Austrians promised that Serbia won't be annexed. and the peace treaty after the war is seen as a way too harsh and unfair punishment. we still love to whine about it all the time

lot of ancient history, civilisations of the fertile crescent , greeks, romans... then since middle ages around 80-90% of the lessons were european history + a lot of Hung history of course. as i can recall only little about the balkans compared to other parts of europe. and the rest of the world mentioned in few lessons too.
1876-78 and the Balkan wars were only mentioned briefly, the dates, countries participated in it and the consuequences in short, there was no judging about who was good or bad... ww1 we were victims who didn’t want to be in the war.., ww2 again we were victims of the international situation and all sides were bad... lol
world history teaching was i think neutral, in Hungarian history we generally like to portray ourself poor victims, and the events between 1918-1956 are still controversal so depends on the teacher how s/he teach them.

i agree Turkey is doing quite well at least that was my impression from my visits, i saw rapid development. the weak coalition governments were not good for stability in the past and it also increased corruption. They will have to invest more in the infrastructure especially in the eastern part of the country though. i was always wondering why doesn't have Turkey more raillines for example.. but Turks are hard working, enterprising, have big labour force and more and more professional ppl so they certainly have the potential to become a rich developed country in the future.
